WATCH: AJ Styles Takes Out James Ellsworth With a Styles Clash on ‘SmackDown Live’

On SmackDown Live tonight, James Ellsworth took a particularly brutal bump when AJ Styles delivered a Styles Clash off of the steel steps.

This came at the conclusion of an Ambrose Asylum segment, which set up the match between Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles scheduled for Tables, Ladders & Chairs. In the segment, Ambrose mocked Styles for losing to James Ellsworth three times in a row, something that enraged Styles.

Ellsworth also seemed to become a bit too cocky, attempting to take on Styles by himself but getting absolutely massacred by The Phenomenal One. Styles first threw Ellsworth into a table and he then hit him with a ladder and a steel chair. Finally, Styles shocked the audience by delivering a Styles Clash while standing on top of the steps.

This comes a few weeks after James Ellsworth was almost seriously hurt during a Styles Clash when he tucked his chin. Luckily, Ellsworth ended up being fine in that case, mainly because Ambrose quickly improvised and was able to break Ellsworth’s fall. Later, Ellsworth thanked Styles for saving him.

“I didn’t get hurt obviously and AJ is, like I said earlier in my humble opinion, is the best in the world,” Ellsworth said during an interview on Bischoff on Wrestling. “He knows how to adjust to things and everything was ok afterwards.”

Although Ellsworth did not suffer any legitimate injuries during this match, the segment ended with the new SmackDown Live superstar being taken away in an ambulance.
