WATCH: Roman Reigns Booed at the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Roman Reigns was booed by the crowd at the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday.

About an hour into the show, the cameras cut back from a promo for the WrestleMania Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker match. The entire stadium in Orlando, Florida immediately began to boo Roman Reigns.

As this was happening, Sami Zayn, who was seated directly behind Roman Reigns, could be seen laughing hysterically. Roman himself simply raised his eyebrows and took the crowd’s hatred, looking at the camera as if he were Jim from The Office.

This was the first example of the crowd having any sort of a negative reaction to anything during the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony; unlike an actual WWE live wrestling show, this is not the type of event in which people are generally booed.

About 20 minutes later, while Ricky Morton was giving his speech, the camera again cut to Roman Reigns, who was simply sitting and applauding. The crowd once again erupted in boos, and Morton said, “Woah.” Robert Gibson, meanwhile, seemed confused about what the crowd was so upset about, not realizing that the camera had cut to Roman Reigns.

The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place in the same city as WrestleMania, and generally most of the people in attendance also have tickets for WrestleMania; the WWE travel packages include tickets for both shows. Roman Reigns is currently the favorite to win the match with The Undertaker on Sunday, and this match is now expected to close the show, meaning this might be the second WrestleMania in a row in which the show closes with Roman Reigns winning and the crowd booing him.
