
Three weeks into the season, and teams are starting to emerge as we approach the one month mark. Last week, it was the New York Yankees that overcame a slow start to hit a hot streak. This week, it is the Washington Nationals that enter Heavy's power rankings after a slower than expected start. The Nationals enter this week on a six-game winning streak. The Yankees continue to play well as their winning streak extended to eight before the White Sox handed them a loss. New York has gone 8-2 in their last ten games. The Baltimore Orioles continue to be as steady as they come and have been the most consistent team in baseball to start the season. The Orioles are 7-3 over their last ten games. On the players side, Bryce Harper is off to a red-hot start. Harper is hitting .393 with seven home runs and a league-leading 20 RBI. The Brewers Eric Thames is leading the league in home runs with eight. Boston's Chris Sale has had an incredible start and is tops in the majors with 42 strikeouts to go along with his 0.91 ERA. The Twins' Ervin Santana continues to be one of the most surprising stories in the MLB to start the season. Sanatana sits at 3-0 with a 0.64 ERA. The Rockies Greg Holland has converted every save opportunity he has had this season and leads the league with nine saves. A couple of notes about the rankings. No. 10 Oakland A's
Standings: 10-8 (2nd in AL West)

Outlook: The A's have quietly rattled off five straight wins. Oakland took two of three games against the Rangers then swept the Mariners. Khris Davis has hit seven home runs, 12 RBI and 41 total bases. Sean Manaea has thrown 26 strikeouts in his four outings this season. No. 9 Boston Red Sox
Standings: 10-8 (3rd in AL East)
Last Week's Ranking: Not Ranked
Outlook: Boston is starting to hit their stride. The Red Sox finished out a sweep of the Rays then took two out of three games in Toronto. Boston will get tested this week at home with series against the Yankees and Cubs. The Red Sox have been led by their stellar pitching. Chris Sale has a .91 ERA with a league-leading 42 strikeouts. Mookie Betts is off to a good start hitting .316 with 25 total bases. The Red Sox are the third team in the AL East to make Heavy's power rankings. (Getty)

No. 8 Cleveland Indians
Standings: 10-7 (1st in AL Central)
Last Week's Ranking: Not Ranked
Outlook: The Indians used a trip to Minnesota to build some momentum. Cleveland swept three games against the Twins then got a solid start against the White Sox. Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez are leading the Indians in hitting. Lindor is hitting .323 with four home runs, 10 RBI and 40 total bases. Ramirez is hitting .322 with four homers, 16 RBI and 34 total bases. Danny Salazar and Corey Kluber both have 27 strikeouts. The Indians are at home all week as they host the Astros and Mariners. No. 7 Arizona Diamondbacks
Standings: 11-7 (2nd in NL West)
Last Week's Ranking: 7th
Outlook: It's been a bit of a down week for the Diamondbacks. They split a four-game series with the Dodgers then lost two of three games against the Padres. The Diamondbacks are at home all week as they take on the the Padres in a four-game series followed by the Rockies for a three-game stand. Jake Lamb has been crucial for the Diamondbacks success with 16 RBI and 33 total bases. Arizona has three pitchers with 20 or more strikeouts this season. No. 6 Houston Astros
Standings: 12-6 (1st in AL West)
Last Week's Ranking: 5th
Outlook: Houston is starting to build a nice lead in the AL West. The Astros spent the majority of last week taking on the Angels at home. Houston took three of four games in the series. Houston has received some great pitching. Dallas Keuchel is 3-0 with 22 strikeouts. Lance McCullers Jr. is 2-0 with 31 strikeouts. The Astros have five players hitting over .300 and are getting some power from George Springer who has seven home runs. No. 5 Chicago Cubs
Standings: 10-7 (1st in NL Central)
Last Week's Ranking: 6th
Outlook: After being swept by the Pirates, the Cubs rebounded with series victories against the Brewers and Reds. Chicago has had a balanced attack with solid pitching and hitting. Jake Arrieta is a perfect 3-0 and has 29 strikeouts through three weeks of the season. Jon Lester has also been solid with a 2.66 ERA and 21 strikeouts. Jason Heyward and Anthony Rizzo have been two of the Cubs best hitters. The Cubs are on the road all week. Their first stop is Pittsburgh for a three-game series against the Pirates. No. 4 Colorado Rockies
Standings: 12-6 (1st in NL West)
Last Week's Ranking: 8th
Outlook: The Rockies started the week by finishing out a series win over the Giants. Colorado split a two-game series with the Dodgers. The Rockies will have a challenging week as they have a four-game home stand against the Nationals then head to Arizona to battle the Diamondbacks for early control of the NL West. Colorado has a number of hot bats including Nolan Arenado who is hitting .333 with six homers and 11 RBI. Greg Holland has been one of the best closers in baseball. No. 3 New York Yankees
Standings: 11-6 (2nd in AL East)
Last Week's Ranking: 2nd
Outlook: The Yankees eight-game winning streak finally came to an end against the White Sox. New York is still playing really good baseball. They started last week by finishing off a sweep of the Cardinals then took two of three against the White Sox. They'll travel to Boston for a rivalry series against the Red Sox then will come back home to host the Orioles. Third baseman Chase Headley has cooled off a little but is still hitting at a crazy pace with a .377 batting average. No. 2 Washington Nationals
Standings: 12-5 (1st in NL East)

Outlook: The Nationals head into the fourth week of the season on a six-game winning streak and are 8-2 in their last ten games. The Nationals have been road warriors with five of those six wins happening on the road. After a slow start, Washington enters our rankings for the first time this season. They took series against the Braves and Mets. Stephen Strasburg is off to a good start going 2-0 with 29 strikeouts. Bryce Harper has been absolutely crushing the ball. He's hitting .393 with seven home runs, 20 RBI and 51 total bases. They go on the road for a four-game series against the Rockies then host the Mets to close out the week. (Getty)

No. 1 Baltimore Orioles
Standings: 12-4 (1st in AL East)
Last Week's Ranking: 1st
Outlook: The Orioles continue to go about their business and have been one of the most consistent teams in baseball. Baltimore closed out a series victory against the Blue Jays to start the week. They finished it out by taking two of three games against the Reds. For the most part, it has been the Orioles' pitching that carried them last week. Dylan Bundy has gone 3-1 with a 1.37 ERA and 20 strikeouts this season. Wade Miley has also been solid leading the team with 24 strikeouts. This week, Baltimore hosts the Rays then travels to take on the Yankees. It will be a highly anticipated matchup between two of the best teams in the league to start the season. (Getty)
