Last week on Monday Night Raw, The Miz became the number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship. The current champion is Dean Ambrose, so when will The Miz battle Ambrose?
On Raw this week, it was revealed that Miz and Ambrose will battle for the Intercontinental Championship next week, on Monday, May 15th.
This has not yet been officially announced on the USA broadcast of the show, but the show was pre-taped in London this week, and at the taping, the Ambrose vs. Miz match was given this date.
Some fans were surprised that this match will not take place at Extreme Rules, the next Raw exclusive pay-per-view on Sunday, June 4th. It’s possible, though, that The Miz will win the championship next week, and then the rematch will be scheduled for Extreme Rules.
The Miz, of course, held the Intercontinental Championship for much of last year while he was on SmackDown Live.
