If the first two weren’t enough, strap in for the third press conference in as many days between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor.
The two are slated for their third stop on their four city, four day and three country press tour Thursday. After hyping the August 26 boxing match Tuesday in Los Angeles and Wednesday in Toronto, Mayweather and McGregor are in New York City for more expected fireworks.
They will take the stage at Barclays Center in Brooklyn to hype the fight once more. Coverage of the press conference is slated to start at 6:30 p.m. EDT.
The event has become quite the spectacle, one like we’ve never quite seen before. The first two have started with McGregor grabbing a microphone and hyping up the crowd before laying down the insults on Mayweather. Eventually, Mayweather gets his turn to let McGregor have it, and the two meet at the front of the stage for a face-off photo opportunity.
Wedensday’s press conference in Toronto certainly lived up to expectations. In front of a crowd of about 16,000 people, Mayweather and McGregor went back and forth with insults and trash talk.
McGregor went to town on Mayweather, accusing him of not being able to read before calling Showtime chief Stephen Espinoza a “b****” for allegedly having his microphone cut off a day before.
Mayweather fired back by saying that he’s not fazed by any of McGregor’s trash talk and challenged the UFC champion to put his whole fight check on the line if he’s so confident that he will beat him. The undefeated boxer, who is coming out of retirement to take on McGregor, admitted that the Irishman is bringing out the best of him in the press tour.
After Thursday’s press conference in NYC, the two will fly overseas to wrap up the global press tour with a stop in London. Coverage of Friday’s press conference will begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
