Before the game, they made big news by releasing Cam Thomas (who they had just acquired last month).
The Bucks wrote: “We have requested waivers on Cam Thomas.”

Directly following the news, the Bucks announced another roster move involving Pete Nance.
The Bucks wrote: “We have converted Pete Nance to a multi-year standard NBA contract.”

Nance played his college basketball at Northwestern and UNC.
Over part of three NBA seasons, he has played for the Bucks, Cavs and 76ers.
Right now, he is averaging 4.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 56.4% from the field and 47.9% from three-point range in 37 games.

Thomas was the 27th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of LSU.
Prior to the Bucks, he had spent part of five seasons with the Brooklyn Nets.
His career averages are 14.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest while shooting 43.5% from the field and 34.0% from three-point range in 257 games.
ESPN’s Shams Charania wrote: “Bucks GM Jon Horst sold Thomas as a key part of the team’s contention ability this season and the future after the team signed him post-trade deadline, while Doc Rivers compared Thomas to Lou Williams and Jamal Crawford after just two games. Now he’s waived.”

The Bucks have had a tough season as the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 29-42 record in 71 games.
They have won just three out of their last ten games.
Last season, the Bucks lost in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs (to the Indiana Pacers).
