Tom Brady apparently won’t mind competing with collectors for one of the biggest cards in the new 2026 Topps Flagship Football release.
On Friday, August 21 β the product’s official release date β Brady shared an image of an autographed Topps card depicting him holding the Lombardi Trophy on his Instagram Story.
His message to collectors was brief: βIβm a buyer fyi π.β
Brady tagged both Topps and Fanatics in the post and added another message near the bottom of the image: βCOLLECT MY CARD π.β
The timing gives the post considerably more weight than a routine card reveal. Topps Flagship Football officially returned Friday as a fully licensed NFL product for the first time in more than a decade, putting one of football card collecting’s best-known brands back into the hobby with current NFL logos, rookies, stars and legends.

Tom Brady Is Part of a Loaded Topps Football Checklist
Brady isn’t simply being used to promote the return.
He’s one of the prominent legends collectors can actually chase in 2026 Topps Flagship Football.
Topps’ checklist spans 400 cards and mixes the 2026 rookie class with established NFL stars and retired icons. Brady joins names including Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees, while the rookie class includes No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza, Jeremiyah Love and Carnell Tate.
Brady also appears within the product’s premium content. Topps identifies him among the legendary players included in its autograph lineup, giving collectors considerably more to chase than a standard Brady card.
That makes his Instagram declaration especially fitting: collectors ripping the product aren’t merely looking for Brady’s name in the base set. They’re chasing scarce versions and autograph hits featuring one of the most collected quarterbacks in football history.
Brady’s post shouldn’t be interpreted as evidence that any particular card will rise in value. But having the player himself publicly say he’s a buyer β on release day, while putting one of his autographs in front of millions of followers β adds another layer of attention to an already prominent chase.
What Collectors Can Find in 2026 Topps Flagship Football
The larger story behind Brady’s post is Topps’ return to the center of the licensed football-card market.
The 2026 release includes base cards, parallels, Super Short Prints, rookie variations, relics and multiple autograph sets. Topps highlighted 1957 Rookie Variations, Golden Mirror Image Variations, Flagship First Signatures and Super Bowl Champions Signatures among the product’s featured chases.
There are also several ways into the product depending on how collectors want to rip it.
A standard Hobby Box contains 20 packs with 12 cards per pack and guarantees one autograph or relic card. Jumbo Boxes contain 400 cards and include one autograph and one relic, while retail formats such as Value and Mega Boxes give collectors less expensive entry points.
Topps listed Hobby Boxes at $119.99 during the preorder period and Jumbo Boxes at $279.99, with Value Boxes at $24.99 and Mega Boxes at $49.99.
The product’s significance goes beyond any one Brady autograph. Topps describes it as its first Flagship Football release since 2015, restoring an annual-style NFL product that had been absent for more than a decade.
And on the day that run officially restarted, perhaps the most recognizable quarterback on the checklist made his own collecting plans pretty clear.
Apparently Brady wants in on the chase, too.
