The Indiana Hoosiers were able to pull out a hard-fought 27-21 win over the Miami Hurricanes on Monday night in the college football national championship game.
After an incredible season, the Hoosiers were able to finish out with a 16-0 record. Miami put up a fight, but Indiana made the necessary plays to win its first ever football championship.
Now that the Hoosiers are officially national champions, plenty of opinions have started to come out about where they rank all-time and which other championship teams they couldn’t beat. Everyone has an opinion, including Green Bay Packers superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons.
Parsons took to social media to throw some shade at Indiana. He made it clear that the Hoosiers would have no chance at beating the Joe Burrow-led LSU team from a few years back.
“Indiana might win, but ball knowers, I better never hear a comparison to Joe Burrow and that LSU team to this Indiana unit,” Parsons wrote on X.
Curt Cignetti Changed Everything for the Indiana Hoosiers
Just two years into his tenure as the head coach at Indiana, Cignetti has won a championship. In his first season with the program in 2024, he led the team to the College Football Playoff.
Cignetti has already risen to the level of an elite college football head coach. Some are even starting to call him the best coach in the nation.
Through his first two seasons with the Hoosiers, he has gone 27-2.
Looking ahead at the future, Indiana is in a great place. Cignetti has been busy in the transfer portal during the College Football Playoff, landing players like quarterback Josh Hoover, wide receiver Nick Marsh, and running back Turbo Richard. He has also brought in a lot of talent on the defensive side of the football.
At this point in time, the Hoosiers look like a team who should be a national championship contender once again next season. As long as Cignetti is leading the way, Indiana is going to have a chance.
Micah Parsons’ Status for 2026 With the Packers
Parsons is coming off of his first season with the Packers. Unfortunately, he saw his year come to an end early due to a torn ACL that he suffered while playing against the Denver Broncos.
There is no firm timetable for his return, but he has been targeting Week 3 or Week 4 of the 2026 season.
During the 2025 season in Green Bay, Parsons put on a show for his new team. He played in 14 games, racking up 41 total tackles to go along with 12.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a defended pass.
Next season, the Packers’ defense will be facing change. Jeff Hafley, the team’s defensive coordinator this season, left town to take the head coaching job for the Miami Dolphins. Green Bay will have a new defensive coordinator.
The entire defense is built around Parsons right now. Assuming he can come back at full health early in the year next season, the Packers are going to be a contender to watch in the NFC.
