Former USC football starting quarterback Miller Moss seems to be enjoying his new college football home at the University of Louisville.  But he also can’t seem to do it without making comments at the expense of his old home, USC.

In a press conference on Monday September 1, 2025, Moss was asked about the game day atmosphere at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium, where the Cardinals play.

Moss apparently really enjoyed it, and found the Louisville fan engagement better than the engagement he saw from Trojan fans.

“I played my earlier parts of college football in a place that has a lot of different attractions around the city, and so it is not a place that is necessarily focused on the college team in that area,” Moss said (h/t Big Red Louie). “So, I think being in a situation where that is the case is really, really cool. To see the support from the city and how they get up to support the team has been awesome.”

Ironically, USC drew 62,841 fans in their Week 1 win against Missouri State while Louisville only had 50,536 people in the house for their Week 1 win against Eastern Kentucky.

USC drew an average of 71,571 fans last season, a season that Moss spent the better part of as the starting QB, while Louisville managed only 50,863 on average.

How Is Moss Playing At Louisville?

The Cardinals are projected to be a good football team in 2025, and they started the season hot with a big 51-17 win over Eastern Kentucky last Saturday.

Moss’s performance was not stellar, however. In his first game as Louisville’s starting QB, he managed to complete 17-of-25 passes for 223 yards and a passing touchdown, but he also threw two interceptions.

Two interceptions against an FCS defense should be a big concern for Moss and Louisville fans. If their new starting QB is making big mistakes against an FCS defense, what happens when the ACC schedule starts?

With USC in 2024, Moss only had two games with less yards and one game with more interceptions than he did against Eastern Kentucky. Remember, EKU is an FCS team.

Trojan fans are likely feeling great that Lincoln Riley moved on from Moss in favor of Jayden Maiava. Not just because of Moss’s dud Week 1 performance, but because Maiava put on a dominant performance in Week 1 for USC, completing 15-of-18 passes for 295 yards and 3 total touchdowns in one half to lead USC to a record-setting 73-13 win

Looking Ahead For Louisville, USC

Louisville will play James Madison in Week 2 on Friday September 5, 2025 at 4pm in Louisville. That should be another game the Cardinals have relative ease in winning. If Moss struggles, it probably won’t matter.

Then, the Cardinals have a bye in Week 3. Their Week 4 matchup against MAC mainstay Bowling Green also projects to be a Louisville win.

But in Week 5, the ACC schedule starts when Louisville has to go on the road to face Pitt. Moss and the Trojans struggled mightily on the road last season (compared to at home, ironic) so that will be a big test to see if Moss is up to the task of leading the Louisville offense.

Louisville’s Week 8 matchup is also one that USC fans will want to circle on their calendars. Moss and Louisville go on the road again for a Friday night road game against currently No.5 ranked Miami

Meanwhile, Maiava gets right to work against the Big Ten in Week 3 on the road against Purdue, then in Week 4 at home against Michigan State before the biggest test of the early season in Week 5 on the road against Illinois.

Trojan fans, what do you think of Miller Moss’s recent comments? Are you still rooting for him to have success at Louisville?
