LIV Golf Indianapolis is serving as the league’s final event of the 2026 season after next week’s planned tournament in Michigan was canceled. The tournament at The Club at Chatham Hills has brought several of LIV Golf’s biggest names together for a final push, with both the individual and team competitions now concluded.

Bubba Watson entered the closing round looking to finish a difficult LIV Golf season on a strong note. The RangeGoats GC captain had recorded only one top-10 finish during the 2026 campaign before arriving in Indianapolis, but he put himself in contention with three strong opening rounds.

The final round is now underway, with Michael La Sasso leading at 13-under par. Watson sits at 12-under and remains within striking distance, while Lee Westwood and Bryson DeChambeau are also among the players competing near the top of the leaderboard.

With the tournament reaching its decisive stage, an on-course exchange involving Watson and a spectator has drawn attention.

Bubba Watson Confronts Fan During Lee Westwood’s Shot

Bubba Watson confronted a spectator after the fan shouted “Go Bryson, Bryson!” while Lee Westwood was preparing to hit a shot during Saturday’s third round at The Club at Chatham Hills.

Westwood backed away from his shot and turned toward the spectator after the interruption. Watson then walked over to the fan and challenged him over the behavior.

“Oh, you don’t want to say anything now? Say something… I’m looking at you, say it,” Watson was heard saying.

The spectator then fell silent as Watson stared in his direction and nodded before returning to his position on the course.

“Golf Magic” reported that the incident happened while Watson, Westwood and DeChambeau were playing together. The interaction was captured on video and later shared on social media.

The confrontation came amid broader discussion about fan behavior at professional golf events. Watson stepped in after the spectator disrupted Westwood’s pre-shot routine.

For Westwood, the interruption came at an important moment in the third round as he attempted to navigate the course and remain within contention.

Bubba Watson Remains in Contention at LIV Golf Indianapolis

Despite the incident, Bubba Watson continued to play well and remained in the hunt heading into the final round.

Watson is now at 12-under par, two shots behind La Sasso, with his final round already underway. Watson is currently tied for second alongside Richard Bland, Laurie Canter, and Thomas Detry.

Bryson DeChambeau is also within reach of the lead at 11-under, while Westwood entered the final round four shots behind La Sasso.

The tight leaderboard has created a crowded race for the title. 22 players were within four shots of the lead heading into Sunday’s final round, leaving the tournament wide open with 18 holes to play.

The Indianapolis event also carries added significance because it is now the final LIV Golf tournament of the season. The planned Michigan season finale was canceled amid financial issues facing the league.

Jon Rahm has already secured the LIV Golf Individual Championship for a third consecutive year, leaving the Indianapolis finale to decide the remaining tournament drama.

For Watson, the focus now shifts back to golf. After a challenging season, he has a chance to close the campaign with a strong finish, sitting just two strokes off the lead as the final round continues.
