Young and Dalition married in March 2021 when Young was 23 years old. Around the same time, his career began to take off. Young took home the 2022 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year around the time they tied the knot. “I think it’s been really helpful,” David said of them attending tournaments. “Instead of sitting in a hotel thinking about what may have been a tough round, golf kind of gets put on the back burner until the next day when the family is around. That’s healthier. He’s a dad first and a golfer second and that’s made him focus doing his job efficiently so he can be the dad he wants to be.”

Young and Dalition struck up a romance thanks to their time together at Wake Forest University. However, they seem to have known each other for much longer. In an interview with Golfweek, Young gave an insight into their history stating,
“We’ve known her family since we lived in Garrison. I played hockey for her dad and with her brother,” Young said. “They’re not a golf family at all so Kelsey is kind of still learning the ropes. It’s actually great for me, because the last thing I want to do when I get home is answer questions like, ‘Why’d you pull a 9-iron on 16?’ That would make my head explode, so that’s been a blessing.”
5. Kelsey Young Encouraged a Change-Up Ahead of Young’s 2023 Season
At the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club, Young debuted a surprising new look. Known for his ever-present beard, Cameron arrived in Rochester, NY with a clean shaven face. When asked about this change, Young credited his wife Kelsey with the decision.
“Honestly, my wife just kind of said, why don’t you shave. It wasn’t like … I don’t think I looked terrible. I don’t know,” Young said. “Yeah, I haven’t been clean-shaven probably since our first son was born [last July].”
