For the first time in nearly three years, Jessica and Nelly Korda will go head-to-head on the LPGA Tour. The two will face off at the Ford Championship in Chandler, Arizona, held at the Whirlwind Golf Club. The sisters last competed together at the Grant Thornton Invitational in December 2025. However, the sisters haven’t faced off competitively in years, making this week a special reunion for fans and family members.

Korda Sisters Reunite on the Course

Jessica Korda, the elder sister at 33, has been away from competitive golf for nearly three years. Initially out due to a back injury, she later shifted her focus to motherhood. Her return is part-time, as she balances training with raising her son Greyson, who was born on February 3, 2024.

“I get about an hour and a half in, and Wednesdays I get a decent amount of time in. I have a sitter for about five, six hours so I need to make sure I can work out, play some golf, and just get everything done that I need to get done,” Jessica said.

“I definitely prioritize my time with my son over golf, so it’s not nearly as exciting as it used to be practicing. I think I was telling Nelly the other day I was there for literally 45 minutes because I just didn’t have the time. So I just try to see what’s the most important thing that day and go from there.”

Despite her time away, Jessica boasts an impressive career with six LPGA wins and 50 top-10 finishes. Highlights include her 2021 victory at the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions, the 2018 Honda LPGA Thailand, and wins at the 2015 Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, as well as two victories in 2014 at the Airbus LPGA Classic and the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic. She captured her first professional win in 2012 at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australia Open. Her return to competitive golf, even part-time, is great for fans eager to see her back in action.

Nelly’s Season

While Jessica gets back into the competition, 27-year-old Nelly Korda enters the Ford Championship with strong momentum. She recently won the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions and narrowly missed another victory at the Fortinet Founders Cup, finishing one shot behind Hyo Joo Kim.

Nelly is currently ranked No. 2 in the Women’s World Golf Rankings. She holds 16 career wins and 77 top-10 finishes. She joined the LPGA Tour in 2017. She also leads the CME points rankings. Nelly’s consistency and competitive edge make her a solid opponent, even as she faces her sister on the course.

A Family Affair

The Korda sisters’ reunion is more than just a golf story. It highlights their shared journey in professional sports. Growing up, their family fostered athletics in both sisters as their father, Petr Korda, a former Australian Open champion, guided them. Nelly and Jessica each carved out impressive careers while maintaining a close sibling bond. Their on-course matchup this week will be watched not only by fans but also by their parents.

“The U.S. Open was I think one of the first ones that they actually paired us together,” Jessica said. “We very rarely get paired total together. We have to play our way into this pairing. We’re always opposite sides of the wave. Our parents have to walk 36. It’s never easy.”

Fans can expect a great golf day as the sisters take the course together, blending Jessica’s return with Nelly’s current dominance. This reunion marks a memorable chapter in both of their careers on the LPGA Tour.
