Scottie Scheffler seems to have it all in life, especially after winning The Open Championship in historic fashion.
If there is one area in which Scheffler has been given a bad draw, though, it might be the Texas native’s head of hair. The now-four-time major winner is a bit follically challenged, which honestly, is a nitpick more than anything else.
Scheffler’s hair is something golf fans might not have ever noticed. He’s almost always wearing a hat when he’s on the course, although given how often he wins and is participating in post-tournament handshakes and trophy ceremonies without his hat on, perhaps his hair (or lack thereof) is on display more than others.
That was the case for about a half-hour or so following the final round of the 2025 British Open. Scheffler nursed a comfy lead for all of Round 4 and never really endured any stress. A relatively ho-hum day led to him hoisting the Claret Jug for the first time in his career as he’s now just one win from the career grand slam.
TaylorMade Appeared to Edit Scheffler Photo to Give Him More Hair
In that celebration, eagle-eyed fans (especially those looking to knock one of the most successful athletes on the planet down a peg) undoubtedly would have seen Scheffler’s receding hairline live on the telecast, in the replays or even in the photos of the celebration and ceremony.
TaylorMade, one of Scheffler’s few sponsors, went above and beyond to congratulate one of their biggest partners. The equipment company posted a congratulatory social media post after the round, and it sure looks like they edited the first photo to give Scheffler a little more hair up top.
Strictly for comparison, here’s a Getty photo from the celebration.

It sure looks like there was some work done.
Golf Digest writer Jamie Kennedy pointed out the apparent Photoshop with a tweet the day after the tournament.
“This Is Bald Shaming”
The post quickly gained traction.
Mostly Correct Takes (@TakesMostly): “This is bald shaming (Taylor Made). This is already a tough time of year for us when having to apply sunscreen to our heads outside when not wearing a hat…and now this?”
Simon Madden (@MAXBloodstock): “A shamefully baldist marketing department”
Filth Mickelson (@PorkChopsAgain): “Taylmormade about to send the man to Turkey on a sponsors exemption”
Todd Schuster (aka Tron from No Laying Up, @TronCarterNLU): “Baldism is rampant these days. This is disgusting from TM.”
Somehow, this isn’t the first time Scheffler’s hair has been a talking point going into or coming out of a major championship. At the 2024 U.S. Open, his haircut was the talk of the town (more or less) going into the tournament at Pinehurst No. 2.
The story that week was how Scheffler looked after getting a “high and tight” cut that showed off a lot of his cranial tan lines. So, really, in a lot of ways, perhaps Scheffler (and TaylorMade) should lean into the baldness, and that’s one less thing to worry about moving forward.
If Scheffler does go that route, he’ll have to make sure he avoids going full Stewart Cink. You never want to go full Stewart Cink.
At this point, though, Scheffler might just consider covering the bald spot(s) with $100 bills. He’s made nearly $100 million in on-course earnings alone, in addition to whatever sponsors like TaylorMade are paying him — in addition to apparently literally running cover for him.
