For the No. 4 seed Arkansas basketball team, the Razorbacks are preparing for a high-stakes Sweet 16 matchup against the No. 1 seed Arizona Wildcats on Thursday, March 26, 2026. For Arkansas, injury concerns are playing a significant role in shaping the team’s expectations.

While they have shown resilience throughout the opening rounds of the 2026 NCAA March Madness tournament, their health situation remains one fo the biggest variables heading into this primetime clash on the court. The most notable storyline for Arkansas basketball revolves around forward Nick Pringle, whose status has fluctuated throughout March Madness. Pringle missed time earlier in the tournament due to a leg injury, including sitting out during the opening weekend of the competition. However, there seems to be optimism and an encouraging about his status going into the Sweet 16 round now that Pringle is off of the injury report and expected to return in the game against Arizona.

That said, there are still questions remaining about Pringle’s effectiveness on the court. After missing multiple tournament games, conditioning and rhythm could be concerns – especially against a physically dominant Arizona frontcourt. Even if he is available in the Sweet 16, it’s unclear how many minutes he will be able to handle playing or whether he can perform at full capacity. His presence alone, though, provides a boost to Arkansas’ interior depth and rebounding ability.

In contrast, Arkansas will definitively be without wing Karter Knox, who has been sidelined for over a month following meniscus surgery. Knox’s absence has been a long-term issue for the Razorbacks, as he offers versatility on both ends of the floor. His ability to stretch defenses and contribute is not easily replaced, ultimately placing a heavier burden on the core rotation.

Adjustments, Player Impacts, and Rotation Outlook

With Karter Knox out and Nick Pringle potentially limited in his range on the court, Arkansas will once again lean on its star guard Darius Acuff Jr, who has emerged as one of the breakout players of this year’s NCAA Tournament. Coming off of a 36 point performance in the Round of 32, Acuff has taken on a larger offensive burden and will be expected to carry the scoring load against Arizona’s defense. He will also likely see more playing minutes in light of the ongoing injuries to the other players on the Arkansas basketball roster.

Arkansas will face off against Arizona at 9:45 PM ET / 8:45 PM CT / 6:45 PM PT tonight in a game that can be streamed on Direct TV, Paramount+, Sling, Fubo, and through the March Madness Live app and NCAA.
