Duke's Boozer twins, Cayden and Cameron Boozer, have already made history against UConn during the Elite Eight.

Duke’s Boozer twins were on point on Sunday, March 29, during their Elite Eight game against UConn. While Cayden and Cameron Boozer have been among the highest-scoring players on the Duke Blue Devils’ roster during the 2025-26 season, they took it to the next level against UConn.

Going into the game, Cameron had already made history. “Cam Boozer scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against St. John’s, tallying his 22nd double-double,” Duke’s official statistics account shared on social media before the game. “Boozer’s 22 double-doubles matches Marvin Bagley (2017-18) for the Duke freshman record.”

Now, the twins together have achieved a feat that’s quite surprising in a good way for the Duke Blue Devils.

Duke’s Boozer Twins Notch Impressive Stats Against the UConn Huskies

Cameron and Cayden together scored 27 points in the first half of Duke’s Elite Eight matchup against UConn. That’s impressive, but what’s even more so is that that 27 point score is almost the amount of points that UConn got on the board as an entire team.

“The Boozer twins have nearly outscored UConn at halftime,” Clutch Points stated on social media, adding that UConn had 29 points on the board. “Duke leads UConn 44-29 at halftime with a spot in the Final Four on the line.”

So, the Boozer twins are really delivering. Now, UConn will need to step it up if they want to make it to the Final Four.

UConn Huskies Head Coach Jon Hurley Praises the Duke Blue Devils

UConn head coach Jon Hurley had glowing things to say about Duke before the showdown. Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, he recognized the team’s legacy.

“I think it speaks to just the university, the commitment that Duke makes to basketball, the commitment that UConn makes to the sport, how important it is to both universities, how much of a part of the identity (basketball is) of the universities,” Hurley said, according to CBS News. “Obviously they’re both world class institutions, but basketball is critically important.”

David Cobb of CBS Sports added that “in the game’s modern era no programs have been the last team standing more frequently than Duke and UConn.” He continued, “Now they will meet with another trip to the Final Four on the line. If history is any indication, the winner will be well-positioned to be the last team standing yet again.”

Hurley also talked about his connection to Duke, since his older brother, Bobby Hurley, became of the most decorated point guards in NCAA history with Duke.

“My family has obviously got this special connection with Duke,” he said, adding that “now being on the UConn side of it, kind of an archrival this time of year, some heart-breaking moments on both sides, to find myself — I would not have imagined I’d be on either side of this.” Finally, Hurley admitted that it’s “pretty cool to be in an Elite Eight game versus Duke here after having witnessed so much of it.”
