The Atlanta Braves participated in the annual Little League Classic in Williamsport, PA, on Sunday evening.
Atlanta defeated the Milwaukee Brewers in a much-needed victory to salvage the series. Next up for the Braves is a date with the Los Angeles Dodgers (at home) this week, but Atlanta has the day off Monday, so the series against LA will begin on Tuesday.
In a very unsurprising roster move, 30-year-old outfielder Brewer Hicklen has been sent down to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Update: In a turn of events, Hicklen is being recalled from AAA on Monday, before the Dodgers series, and Jim Jarvis is being optioned.

Per Little League Classic rules, each team can carry an extra man on the roster. Brewer Hicklen was the Braves player on its roster, so called up on Sunday, but with his Monday AM coffee, he’s headed right back to Triple-A.
He’s been optioned and recalled several times this season. Update: He’s been recalled again to the show, as Jarvis heads down to the minors after a major slump.
Brewer Hicklen, 30, has appeared in eight games for Atlanta this season and has actually fared pretty well, posting a batting average of .386 across 19 at-bats with four doubles. He has played in parts of 4 MLB seasons and has logged 96 games with AAA Gwinnett in 2026.
In the minors this season, Hicken is batting .302 in 354 at-bats with 15 doubles, 18 home runs, and four triples. Those are very solid statistics.

Brewer Hicklen has played for four different MLB squads over his 4 seasons in the Bigs.
He debuted with the Kansas City Royals in 2022 and has also played for the Braves, Detroit Tigers, and Milwaukee Brewers.
Over 18 total games played (31 ABs), Hicklen has batted .290 with 3 RBI and is still searching for his first big-league home run.
He could return to the fold for the Atlanta Braves if another outfielder goes down with an injury in the final month+ of the season.
