There’s a new member of the Glavine family in the Atlanta Braves‘ organization, as multiple reports point to the Braves bringing in Peyton Glavine, Hall of Famer Tom Glavine’s son, on a minor league deal, which highlights that he will report to Double-A Columbus.
Peyton Glavine is also a southpaw, just like his father, who spent 17 of his 22 seasons in MLB with the Braves. Tom Glavine is a 10-time All-Star, two-time CY Young winner, and holds a career 3.54 ERA over 4,413.1 innings pitched.

Peyton Glavine played his collegiate baseball at Auburn University before being drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 37th round of the 2017 MLB draft.
Glavine decided to get his collegiate education and ended up landing with the Washington Nationals organization in 2021, where he started his professional baseball career.

Over four seasons in the minors, Peyton Glavine holds a 3.42 ERA over 76.1 innings. He has not made it past single-A in his career, but this new opportunity with the Braves might change that.
In his college career, Glavine posted a 6.92 ERA over 39 total innings. Glavine’s father, Tom, is still involved with the Braves organization, as he often makes guest appearances in the Braves broadcast booth alongside CJ Nitkowski and Brandon Gaudin.

Tom Glavine’s Hall of Fame Career
Tom Glavine has one of the most decorated careers in Atlanta Braves history. He made 682 total starts in his career over 22 years and was a model of consistency over his years.
After spending five seasons with the New York Mets, Glavine retired as a Brave in 2008. He helped lift the Braves to a 1995 World Series title and was a part of one of the best rotations in MLB history alongside Greg Maddux and John Smoltz.
The 10X All-Star also won four Silver Slugger awards as a pitcher, back when pitchers were still allowed to hit. He led the NL in wins five times.
Never a strikeout artist, Glavine was a soft lefty with the ability to constantly miss barrels.
It will be interesting to see how far Peyton Glavine makes it in his career with the Atlanta Braves.
