The Atlanta Braves are one loss away from being swept by the league-leading Milwaukee Brewers. While it’s an honor to lose to the best team in the MLB (sarcastic), the Braves play to win, not to earn consolation prizes. Amid this losing streak, the Braves have announced news regarding Garrett Baumann.
The Braves have struggled to muster offense during their series against the Brewers. They have lost 2-1 & 4-1 in Games 1 & 2.

During this series against the Brewers, the Braves announced news about Baumann.
According to the MiLB Transactions Log, the Braves are promoting Baumann: “RHP Garrett Baumann assigned to Gwinnett Stripers from Columbus Clingstones.”
Baumann is a 22-year-old pitcher. The 6-foot-8, 245-pound hurler was originally a 2023 draft selection of the Braves.

Baumann has gone between Double-A and Triple-A all season.
Across both minor leagues, he has started 21 games. In those contests, Baumann has recorded 103 strikeouts, a 5.95 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, and one complete game.
Scouting reports surrounding Baumann are promising.
According to MLB.com, Baumann was the ninth-best prospect in the Braves system in 2025. According to the scouting report, “He landed his fastball, which averaged around 94 mph for the 2024 season and touched 98, for a strike 72 percent of the time and he did that while working on improving his fastball shape.”
That’s exactly the kind of player you want to be promoting in your organization.

Following their most recent loss to the Brewers, the Braves are still the top seed in the NL East. However, their 3-7 record in their last 10 games sends up red flags.
They are three games ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies and nine games ahead of the Miami Marlins. That lead could continue to slip if their unlucky streak continues.
In the National League, the Braves rank third, behind the 81-win Brewers and 79-win Los Angeles Dodgers. Both the Dodgers and Brewers are 7-3 in their last 10 games.
The Dodgers are on a five-game winning streak.
The Phillies are nipping at the Braves’ heels. They are riding an eight-game winning streak. If their winning ways continue, Braves’ fans could be looking at the beginning of the end of their reign at the top of the NL East.
This final game against the Brewers should tell fans a lot. On Sunday, the final game of the series (also dubbed the Little League Classic) is scheduled for 5:10 PM Mountain Time, 7:10 PM Eastern Time.
