After the game, Sale made a bold statement about Misiorowski when he met with the media (h/t Zach Sweet of MLB.com).
Sale: “I’ve talked to him the last couple All-Star Games. We’ve had a good time together. It seems like he’s kind of in a league of his own this year. Probably the most impressive fastball I’ve ever seen.”

Misiorowski went 6.0 innings, allowing no runs (with six strikeouts).
Adam McCalvy of MLB.com wrote: “Jacob Misiorowski didn’t have 104 mph in him today, but he earns a standing ovation as he walks off the mound after a sixth scoreless inning. If that’s it for today, he surrendered four hits, walked two and struck out six on 96 pitches.”
Misiorowski is in the middle of a remarkable season.
The 24-year-old has gone 13-5 with a 1.68 ERA in 24 starts.
He has made the MLB All-Star Games in each of his first two seasons.
