During Tuesday’s game, Jose Altuve made MLB history by playing in his 2,000th career game.
He is the 254th player to ever reach the milestone.
FOX Sports: MLB wrote: “Jose Altuve has become the fifth active player to reach 2,000 career games!”
At 35, Altuve is still a very productive player.
He came into the night batting .281 with three home runs, eight RBI’s, 17 runs and one stolen base in 23 games.
@BillBishopKHOU of KHOU-TV wrote: “Jose Altuve just started the 2,000th game of his career, all with the Astros, of course. He is the 3rd Astros player to reach this milestone. Hall of Famers Craig Biggio (2,850) and Jeff Bagwell (2,150) also surpassed 2,000 career games.”

Altuve has spent all 16 years of his career playing for the Astros.
The 2017 MVP has batted .300+ in seven different seasons.
He is coming off a year where he batted .265 with 26 home runs, 77 RBI’s, 80 runs and ten stolen bases in 155 games.

Altuve has helped lead the Astros to two World Series Championships (2017 and 2022).
Over his career, the nine-time MLB All-Star is batting .303 with 258 home runs, 897 RBI’s, 1,253 runs and 326 stolen bases.

The Astros are off to a slow start to the 2026 MLB season with a 9-15 record in 24 games.
They are 2-9 in the 11 games they have played on the road away from Houston.
Following their series with the Guardians, the Astros will head back home to host Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees on Friday night.
