Spring training has arrived, and games begin on Friday, February 20th. This is a chance for every team to make final roster decisions and figure out where a player might bat in the lineup or play in the field. This is also a chance for fans to get a first look at their favorite teams before the regular season starts up. With that said, many teams will be broadcasting some of these spring training games to their local fan bases. The Los Angeles Angels have decided to go a different direction.
Per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com, the Angels will not be broadcasting any of their spring training games. However, the team will have Angels radio up and running. So if Angels fans want to follow along with spring training games, they will have to do so through the radio.
Angels Broadcast Deal Still Uncertain
The decision not to broadcast spring training games has Los Angeles fans very upset. Although it is a shocking decision, there are larger issues at play.
The main issue the Angels have to deal with is their broadcast deal. Los Angeles terminated their broadcast deal with FanDuel Sports Network, as the parent company of the station is set to file for bankruptcy. The Angels are one of nine teams that ended their contracts with FanDuel Sports Network for this reason.
Some teams have already figured out how they will broadcast regular season games in 2026. Others are still trying to find TV partners for the upcoming season. For now, the Angels will have their games streamed through MLB.tv.
All games will be streamed through the app, and a full season package (for Angels games only) can be purchased for $99.99 through MLB.com. It is important to note that this package comes without blackouts, so viewers in Los Angeles and the surrounding area will have no issues watching the Angels play.
As for spring training, the only games that can be watched are the ones streamed by opposing teams and the spring training games in Los Angeles against the Dodgers.
Angels Season Ahead

GettyMike Trout expects to be back in the outfield in 2026.
Broadcast deal aside, the Angels have some exciting things to look forward to this season.
The most important thing is the health of Mike Trout. Trout enters 2026 as healthy as he has been in recent years. He is expected to leave the DH spot and find himself back in the outfield. In fact, the three-time MVP wants to play center field again.
Another reason is new manager Kurt Suzuki. Suzuki takes control of a team that desperately needs solid leadership. The Angels have struggled for a long time and have not finished above .500 since winning 85 games in 2015. Los Angeles has not made the playoffs since being swept in the ALDS by the Kansas City Royals in 2014.
The Angels are looking forward to turning the page in 2026. But when it comes to watching the team, fans will have to wait until the regular season to find easily accessible games.
