He’s back! The Miami Marlins‘ All-Star outfielder Kyle Stowers is set to return for the fish on Sunday afternoon against the Milwaukee Brewers.

On Saturday, Marlins manager Clayton McCullough told reporters that Stowers will be activated off the 10-day injured list for the weekend series finale on Sunday. Stowers, who enjoyed a breakout season in 2025 and took the league by storm due to a torrid summer stretch, had been dealing with a hamstring injury.

The corresponding move is optioning infielder Deyvison De Los Santos to Triple-A. The hamstring issue for Kyle Stowers popped up at the end of spring training, but he’s exceeded his recovery timeline to this point.

Kyle Stowers, 24, had just four career home runs before being traded from the Baltimore Orioles to the Miami Marlins in 2024. Since being traded to the Marlins? Stowers has hit 27 home runs in  167 total games.

He couldn’t finish the season last year due to injury, but during his time in the lineup, Stowers put big league pitchers on notice on a nightly basis.

In 117 games last season, Stowers hit .288 with 25 home runs, 73 RBI, and an OPS+ of 151.

Over parts of three seasons in Baltimore, things just didn’t seem to click for Stowers. He appeared in 67 games from 2022 to 2024, but hit just .229 with four home runs and a well below-average OPS+.

Several outlets broke the news that Kyle Stowers will return to the Marlins lineup on Sunday.

MLBTradeRumors.com’s Mark Polishuk gave some insight into what the return of Stowers means for Miami:

“Needless to say, getting Stowers back will be a huge boost.  Sunday will mark Stowers’ first MLB game since August 15, as his breakout 2025 campaign was cut short by an oblique strain.  Stowers’ first full season in Miami saw him hit .288/.368/.544 with 25 home runs over 457 plate appearances, and he generated 4.0 fWAR over only 117 games.”

It will also be a boost for another reason. The Marlins are 9-12, and in second place in the NL East. After a solid 8-8 start, Miami has dropped four of its last five games.

The boost of having Kyle Stowers back should help ease some pressure off the lineup, but most MLB fans will enjoy getting the chance to see what Kyle Stowers can do with everyday AB’s.
