On Friday evening, the New York Mets opened up a series with the New York Yankees at Citi Field.

The Mets lost by a score of 5-2.

Despite the loss, Juan Soto hit a home run (and had one walk).

With his home run, Soto made MLB history.

ESPN Insights wrote: “Juan Soto hit his 250th career home run Friday night 💥 Soto is the 25th active player to reach 250 career HR, and the youngest player overall to reach the milestone since Albert Pujols 🤯”

Soto is in his second season with the Mets.

The 2019 World Series Champion is currently batting .271 with 29 hits, six home runs, 14 RBI’s, 14 runs and one stolen base in his first 29 games of the 2026 season.
