New York Yankees Announce Roster Move Before Brewers Game

On Sunday afternoon, the New York Yankees will wrap up their series with the Milwaukee Brewers in Wisconsin.

The Yankees will look to avoid getting swept after losing each of the first two games.

They most recently lost Saturday’s game by a score of 4-3.

New York Yankees Announce Roster Move

Ahead of Sunday’s game, the Yankees announced that they had made a roster move.

The Yankees wrote (via X): “Following last night’s game, the Yankees optioned RHP Kervin Castro to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Prior to today’s game, the Yankees returned LHP Carlos Rodón (#55) from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 15-day injured list.”

Rodón is set to make his season debut on Sunday.

He is coming off a year where he went 18-9 with a 3.09 ERA in 33 games.

Rodón’s Background

Rodón was the third pick in the 2014 MLB Draft.

He is in his fourth season with the Yankees after stints with the Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants.

The three-time MLB All-Star has gone 93-72 with a 3.73 ERA in 231 career games.

Castro’s Background

Castro is in his first season pitching for New York (and appeared in one game this year).

He has also had stints with the San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs.

Over 21 career games, the 27-year-old has gone 1-2 with a 4.88 ERA.

The Yankees are the second-place team in the American League East with a 26-14 record in 40 games.

They are 12-8 in the 20 games they have played on the road.

Directly following Sunday’s game, the Yankees will head to Baltimore for a series with the Orioles that starts on Monday night.
