The Philadelphia Phillies secured a 7-6 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in their series opener at Citizens Bank Park on Friday night, thanks to a walk-off triple from Alec Bohm.
Ahead of Saturday’s matchup, which will feature right-hander Andrew Painter on the mound for Philadelphia against left-hander Quinn Mathews, Phillies manager Don Mattingly made a few changes to his lineup, including one involving All-Star Brandon Marsh.
Phillies Announce Decision on Marsh
It’s been the best year of Marsh’s MLB career, but he has returned to a platoon role against left-handed pitchers over the last few months. That will once again be the case on Saturday.
Despite recording two hits in Friday night’s win, Marsh will not start against St. Louis.
Instead, Bryan De La Cruz will start in left field, while Derek Hill will play center field and Bryce Harper will start in right.

Phillies Right Now
Philadelphia enters Saturday riding a seven-game winning streak and sits at 71-58 overall, just 4.0 games behind the Atlanta Braves for the NL East lead.
If the season ended today, the Phillies would hold the second Wild Card spot and face the Chicago Cubs on the road in a best-of-three Wild Card Series.
