The NASCAR Cup Series standings shifted again after the race at Kansas Speedway, and the gap at the top continues to grow. Tyler Reddick added another win in the AdventHealth 400, turning his pole into his fifth victory of the 2026 season.

The result pushed him to 457 points after nine races. That total gives him a 105-point lead over the next driver, placing early pressure on the rest of the field to respond. The race followed a familiar pattern with long green-flag runs and key stage battles, but Reddick stayed in control when it mattered most and closed the race without mistakes.

Tyler Reddick Extends NASCAR Cup Series Control

Reddick led key parts of the race and managed track position through clean pit stops. His team avoided issues, which allowed him to stay ahead during long runs. While Denny Hamlin won Stage 1 and Kyle Larson claimed Stage 2, neither driver matched Reddick’s pace in the final stage.

Reddick has now won five of the first nine races and has not finished outside the top 10. His consistency has helped build the early points gap. Crew chief Billy Scott said after the race, “Tyler is driving at another level, but the cars are dialed in every week. We’re not taking anything for granted.”

The updated NASCAR Cup Series standings reflect how far ahead Reddick has moved. Hamlin now sits second with 352 points, cutting into the gap slightly with a strong run. Ryan Blaney is third with 337 points after losing one position. Ty Gibbs climbed to fourth with 319 points following another top-five finish.

Joe Gibbs Racing has multiple drivers near the top, but the gap to first remains large. Behind them, Chase Elliott, Larson, William Byron, and Bubba Wallace continue to hold top-10 positions. Even so, none have reduced the points difference to the leader.

Larson showed speed again by winning a stage, but finished outside the top five for the second straight race. That result limited his ability to gain ground in the standings.

Playoff Picture Remains Open Behind the Leader

Only five drivers have won races so far this season. That leaves most of the playoff positions to be decided by points over the next 17 races. The top 16 drivers after Race 26 will qualify for the postseason.

Reddick has already secured his place with multiple wins, but the rest of the field still needs results. Consistency is becoming more important as the gap grows. Drivers without wins must rely on steady finishes to stay in position.

The next race at Talladega Superspeedway could change the order. Superspeedway races often produce unexpected outcomes and large position swings. Even so, the current standings show one clear trend. Reddick leads the NASCAR Cup Series, and the gap behind him continues to increase after Kansas.
