With a top pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls aren’t just looking for a role player to fit in well with Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis–they are looking for a standout co-star.
Most draft projections predict that the Bulls could end up with North Carolina’s Caleb Wilson at No. 4 overall.
If that’s who the Bulls truly have their eyes on, then they’ll certainly love the message that the incoming rookie recently sent to teams while at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine.
Caleb Wilson Wants To Shift The Culture
“I will change your franchise, your culture, your program, and I can change your city, honestly,” Wilson said on the ESPN broadcast this week.
“I did the same thing at North Carolina. I’m a culture-changer. They had a rough year the year before I was able to play and I changed the culture and I made the city live again. Whatever franchise drafts me knows they are going to get a winner, a leader, and a culture-changer.”
During his freshman season, Wilson appeared in 24 games. He produced 19.8 points per game on 57.8% shooting from the field and 25.9% shooting from three. He also came down with 9.4 rebounds, dished out 2.7 assists, snatched 1.5 steals, and blocked 1.4 shots.
The Bulls have a rich history, but it’s no secret that they’ve lacked a true identity in recent years. For a moment, they seemed set up for success for years to come, while employing Lonzo Ball, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic, with Billy Donovan steering the ship.
A devastating knee injury for Ball took away the team’s true playmaker. He struggled to bounce back, and Chicago struggled to replace that look. Over time, the Bulls cut ties with each star, having Vucevic be the final piece to fall this past trade deadline.
Some of the younger homegrown prospects, such as Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu, also found their way out. The Bulls need a culture-setter. Wilson is clearly embracing an opportunity to be one.
