The Golden State Warriors are back home and preparing for a difficult matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, but their availability picture is still coming into focus.
After a bruising outing against the Los Angeles Clippers, one of Golden State’s most important defensive pieces is now dealing with the wear and tear of a long season. Draymond Green appeared on the injury report with a left ankle sprain, putting his status for Wednesday night in question.
Green addressed his condition directly after the game, and he didn’t sugarcoat it.
“I’m beat the f— up,” Green said. “I’m beat the hell up right now. But I’ll be alright on Wednesday. I’ll take tomorrow to get my body back together.”

The Clippers game took a toll.
Green explained that the issues weren’t limited to one moment or one body part. Instead, it was an accumulation of contact and collisions that added up over the course of the night.
“Crashing into the bench and knocked my rib out,” Green said. “Right after that I rolled my ankle, and then I fell on my wrist and hurt my left wrist.”
Despite the discomfort, Green stayed on the floor and finished the game. That willingness to push through pain has long defined his approach, especially during stretches when the Warriors are trying to stabilize their season.
But the comments also made it clear that Green is feeling the grind.
What Green’s Status Means for Warriors vs. Bucks
Green is officially listed as questionable against Milwaukee due to the ankle sprain. With a couple of days between games, there is still a chance he plays, but Golden State may need to weigh short-term urgency against long-term health.
The Warriors have managed injuries throughout the season, and it has shown up in their record. At the same time, they remain within striking distance in the Western Conference, making every decision feel amplified.
Green has already dealt with intermittent absences this year. He previously sat out against the Oklahoma City Thunder for rest, returned against the Utah Jazz, and was later ejected in that game after just 12 minutes. Against the Clippers, he logged 32 minutes and finished with six points, five rebounds, and 12 assists.
When Green is on the court, the Warriors’ defense and playmaking take on a different shape. When he’s not, those responsibilities become harder to replace.
Final Word for the Warriors

Green’s confidence that he’ll be “alright” carries weight, but the injury report tells the real story. His status for Wednesday remains uncertain, and the Warriors may not know for sure until closer to tip-off.
For a team still searching for consistency, losing Green would be another challenge. But as long as Stephen Curry is on the floor, Golden State remains capable of competing with anyone.
Whether Green joins him against Milwaukee will be one of the biggest questions heading into Wednesday night’s 10 p.m. ET tip.
