SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 05: Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors runs the floor after a three-point basket against the Houston Rockets in the third quarter at Chase Center on April 05, 2026 in San Francisco, California.

The Golden State Warriors are playing the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night, April 7, in a game that, based on the latest Stephen Curry injury update, will feature the NBA superstar.

This is Curry’s second game since returning from a knee injury that sidelined him since late January. It was a much-anticipated injury return, but the Warriors lost to the Houston Rockets as Curry missed a game-winning shot attempt.

Curry was not in Golden State’s starting lineup in the game on Sunday.

Now, for the Tuesday contest against the Kings, the Warriors announced their starting lineup and final injury report for one of their last games of the 2025-26 NBA regular season.

As mentioned, Curry did not start against Houston, and that is once again the case against Sacramento. In a post on social media, the Warriors confirmed their starting lineup.

Will Richard, Brandin Podziemski, De’Anthony Melton, Malevy Leons, and Draymond Green got the nod from Steve Kerr and the rest of the coaching staff.

UPDATE: Richard was a late scratch for Golden State. Pat Spencer was named in the starting lineup in his place.

This is not the same lineup Golden State used on Sunday, despite Curry still not featured.

The Warriors are dealing with several injury concerns, some bigger than others, but based on the team’s final injury report, they had to make some changes after a few key players were ruled out.

Warriors Injury Report

While Curry was listed as probable for the game against the Kings, he was eventually upgraded to available for Tuesday night.

Additionally, Kristaps Porzingis was questionable for much of the day, and he was eventually ruled out with an ankle injury.

Besides those two, the Warriors ruled out Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody, both dealing with season-ending knee injuries. Rookie LJ Cryer was ruled out with an illness, while big men Al Horford (right soleus strain), Quinten Post (right foot injury), and Gui Santos (right pelvic contusion) also won’t play against Sacramento.

Both Horford and Post have missed the past few games, but based on the latest injury updates announced by the team over the weekend, the two could be set to return soon.

Santos, having the best season of his career, played against the Rockets on Sunday despite the pelvic injury, but was later ruled out for Tuesday.

Stephen Curry Injury Update And Minutes Restriction

GettySAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – APRIL 01: Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors warms up before their game against the San Antonio Spurs at Chase Center on April 01, 2026 in San Francisco, California.

The Warriors vs. Rockets game was always the expected injury return date for Curry after he was fully cleared by the team. He was dealing with runner’s knee for more than two months, and while the star said there was no structural damage to his knee, it appears that the injury is one he will have to deal with for the foreseeable future.

With that, along with his status not featured in the starting lineup, Kerr revealed that Curry will be on a minutes restriction for the next few games.

According to team insider Anthony Slater of ESPN, Curry will play roughly 26 minutes per game.

“From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be around that again — 26, maybe stretched a little bit,” Slater said on NBA Today. “Which probably means he’s coming off the bench again, because they want him to close every quarter.”

Curry sat for 27 straight games before finally returning to the Warriors. The expected plan has always been for him to be healthy for the playoffs, and while a minute restriction doesn’t guarantee that, it minimizes the risk of the superstar re-aggravating the knee injury.

The Warriors are 36-42 and tenth in the West, likely to stay in that seed and slated for the Play-In Tournament.
