On Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors played the Grizzlies in Memphis.

The Warriors were without Steph Curry, Kristaps Porzingis, Draymond Green (and Jimmy Butler).

That said, they won by a score of 133-112, which was a huge bounce back after a disappointing loss against the New Orleans Pelicans the night prior.

The Warriors were led by a lot of role players (who are not household names) in Wednesday’s victory.

Will Richard went off for 21 points and six assists while shooting 9/15 from the field in 30 minutes of playing time.

The NBA wrote: “🏀 WEDNESDAY’S FINAL SCORES 🏀 Will Richard leads the @Warriors to the road win! Brandin Podziemski: 19 PTS, 8 REB, 6 AST Gary Payton ll: 19 PTS, 5 REB, 4 AST Gui Santos: 17 PTS (6-7 FGM)”

After the game, head coach Steve Kerr made his feelings clear about the current Warriors’ roster.

Kerr (h/t Joseph Dycus of Mercury News): “I’m really enjoying coaching these guys. They’ve been great. The energy, the enthusiasm, supporting each other. It’s a really fun group.”

Golden State Warriors Find Themselves In Interesting Territory

The Warriors are in an interesting spot, as they still have future Hall of Famers Steph Curry and Draymond Green on the roster.

That said, they are the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 31-28 record in 59 games.

Over their last ten games, the Warriors have gone 4-6 (and they are 12-17 in 29 games away from the Chase Center).

On Saturday, they will return home to host LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in San Francisco.

Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area wrote: “Warriors dominate the Grizzlies for a 133-112 road win in a game where all nine healthy players contributed to the success”

The Warriors last won an NBA title during the 2022 season.

They are coming off a year where they beat the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs (but fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round in five games).

Kerr is in his 12th season at the helm for Golden State.

In that span, the Warriors have been to the NBA Finals six times (and won four titles).

As for the Grizzlies, they are in the middle of a rebuilding season after moving on from key veterans.

Right now, they are the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 21-36 record in 57 games.

Following Golden State, the Grizzlies will play their next game on Friday night when they visit Klay Thompson the Dallas Mavericks in Texas.
