On Sunday, the Memphis Grizzlies played their final game of the 2026 regular season when they faced off against the Houston Rockets in Texas.

The Grizzlies lost by a score of 132-101.

Ja Morant did not play in the game, as he has been out since January 21.

Ja Morant News After Grizzlies Season

On Monday, the news was revealed that Morant would not be speaking during exit interviews.

Matt Infield of Action News 5 wrote: “Ja Morant will not speak at Grizzlies’ exit interviews today.”

Morant finished the season with averages of 19.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 8.1 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 41.0% from the field and 23.5% from three-point range in 20 games.

Morant’s NBA Career

Morant was the second pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Murray State.

He has spent his entire seven-year career with Memphis.

Over 327 career games, the two-time NBA All-Star has averages of 22.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 46.6% from the field and 31.1% from three-point range.

Grizzlies Right Now

The Grizzlies finished the year as the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a 25-57 record.

They had been coming off a season where they were swept by the OKC Thunder in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

There is no question that the future of Morant will be a hot topic this summer.
