The Miami Heat might have a reunion up their sleeve after they officially acquire the NBA star, Klay Thompson.
According to the Miami Herald, the ex-Heat forward Keshad Johnson has not moved on from the team.
Throughout the offseason, Johnson has continued to work out with the Heat in Miami and has discussed a possible reunion. A two-way deal is a possibility for Johnson, but the Miami Herald hasn’t ruled out a standard contract as well.

During his NCAA run, Johnson started his career at San Diego State. After playing four seasons there, he spent his fifth and final college season playing at Arizona.
Johnson started all 36 games there, averaging 11.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, while shooting 38.7% from three.
Despite going undrafted in 2024, Johnson was added by the Miami Heat. He joined the team on a two-way contract and eventually signed a standard two-year deal.
As a rookie, Johnson appeared in just 16 games. He produced 2.7 points per game while shooting 69.2% from the field.

During his sophomore effort, playing on a team option, Johnson made 32 appearances. He saw the court for 8.8 minutes per game. The veteran forward shot 49.0% from the field and posted averages of 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds.
The Heat didn’t offer a new deal to Johnson in free agency so far, but it’s clear that the lack of movement doesn’t signal that Miami’s ready to move on entirely.
As the Heat have been focused on Thompson and other top free agency options, Johnson has had to remain patient. With the dust settled on the Thompson front, that could soon have Johnson back on the roster officially if all goes as planned.
