Anthony Edwards’ child support case has taken another turn after one of his children’s mothers publicly reacted to the latest ruling involving the Minnesota Timberwolves star.
A judge recently ordered Edwards to pay $14,000 per month in child support to Alexandria Desroches for their son, Amir. According to TMZ, the amount was based on Edwards’ monthly income of nearly $4.8 million and is significantly higher than the roughly $3,222 monthly payment previously associated with the case.
Ayesha Howard, the mother of Edwards’ one-year-old daughter, has now voiced support for Desroches following the ruling. Howard told TMZ she was “extremely happy” for Desroches and her son, saying they had “defeated an inactive father” who she claims had been seeking to provide only $3,222 per month.

Howard made clear that she does not view the $14,000 ruling involving Desroches as a reason for conflict between the two women.
“I’m extremely happy for Alexandria and her son because they defeated an inactive father,” Howard told TMZ.
Howard also described the outcome as something she wanted to celebrate, saying she wanted to “celebrate [her] sister ALLY!”
The $3,222 figure referenced by Howard is connected to her own child support case with Edwards. TMZ previously reported that a judge entered a default judgment against Edwards, ordering her to pay Howard $3,222 per month after she failed to appear at trial or provide evidence supporting her claims.
Howard said her child support amount does not represent a final support order. She added that she plans to continue fighting for herself and her daughter.
The latest development instead centers on Desroches and Amir, who was born in October 2023.
According to the court documents cited by TMZ, Edwards admitted under oath that he has never met Amir in person and is not seeking parenting time with him.
The judge’s order also requires Edwards to obtain a life insurance policy worth about $2.6 million, with Desroches named as the primary beneficiary. He was also ordered to pay more than $21,000 in Desroches’ legal fees.

The ruling adds another development to Edwards’ increasingly complicated family and child support situation.
The Timberwolves guard has four children with four different women, born between September 2023 and October 2024.
In addition to Amir, Edwards shares a daughter, Aubri, with Howard. A Georgia judge previously ordered him to pay $3,222 per month in child support for Aubri. Edwards also has a daughter, Aris, with Daja Carlyle, born in September 2023, and another daughter, Aislynn, with Shannon Jackson, born in March 2024.
The latest ruling involving Desroches was based on Edwards’ reported monthly gross income of nearly $4.8 million. TMZ reported that the $14,000 figure represents a substantial increase from the baseline amount of approximately $3,200 per month.
Edwards, who turned 25 earlier this month, remains under a contract worth more than $200 million with the Timberwolves. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and signed a five-year, $244.6 million extension before the 2023-24 season.
The court developments have now prompted a notable response from Howard, who emphasized her support for Desroches despite her own ongoing child support matter involving Edwards.
