A new series for the Minnesota Timberwolves is set to tip off on Monday, May 4.
Minnesota will pay a visit to the San Antonio Spurs, and the Wolves hope to have a couple of key players returning to the court after dealing with setbacks.
Of course, all eyes have been on Anthony Edwards. After the star guard missed the final games against the Denver Nuggets due to a knee injury, many wondered if Edwards would be able to play in the second-round series against the Spurs.
But Edwards isn’t the only key contributor on the list. Ayo Dosunmu also remains on the injury report due to right calf soreness. It’s been a lingering issue for the in-season trade acquisition lately.
According to the official NBA Injury report, Dosunmu is listed as questionable for the matchup. He is likely considered a game-time decision going into Game 1.
How Did The First Round Play Out For Ayo Dosunmu?

The first-round series between the Timberwolves and the Nuggets was just the second time that Dosunmu played in the playoffs in his career.
The run started with Dosunmu coming off the bench. It was a slow burn, but by Game 3, Dosunmu was a key contributor. In Game 3, Dosunmu checked in for 31 minutes to score 25 points. He missed the double-double by one assist.
In a critical Game 4, Dosunmu helped the Timberwolves pick up an unlikely third-straight win with a 43-point outing. After that 42-minute showing from Dosunmu, the Timberwolves started the veteran guard in Game 5. Dosunmu racked up 18 points on 50.0% shooting.

With calf tightness becoming an issue, Dosunmu missed the Timberwolves’ Game 6 battle against the Nuggets. Fortunately, they didn’t need his services to pick up the win.
On Monday, the Timberwolves’ road gets more difficult as they will face the No. 2 Spurs. Getting back as many players as possible would be ideal. Dosunmu has a shot to make his return to the court after getting a few days off.
