Here’s what people were saying about the injury:
Tom Orsborn: “Per NBA, if a player is diagnosed with a concussion, he cannot return to participating for at least 48 hours, including the date of diagnosis, and until after he completes the required return-to-participation process.”
Nick Wright: “The Wemby potential concussion (and the fact that in the NBA a concussion typically means a player is out ~8 days) has all of a sudden made OKC -200 to win the West and for the first time all year, a minus money favorite to win the title at -115.”
Kevin O’Connor: “Victor Wembanyama’s fall sure looked like a concussion. Knocked out cold after his chin hit the ground. The average NBA recovery time for a concussion is 7-10 days. 7 days would be Game 5. 10 days would be Game 7.”
Keith Smith: “I know Victor Wembanyama is in concussion protocol, but has there been any update beyond? He hit the floor so hard, I’m worried about his jaw and cheek bones.”
Matt Guzman: “On average, NBA players have missed 7 days with a concussion. One week from today is when Game 5 is scheduled in San Antonio. Game 6 (Portland) and 7 (San Antonio) are scheduled in nine and 11 days, respectively. #PorVida”
Brett Siegel: “Spurs star Victor Wembanyama just smacked his chin/face on the court and appeared to be dizzy. He went running back to the locker room after taking a few moments to regroup on the court.”
