The Arizona Cardinals have signed a safety following their preseason loss to the Dallas Cowboys. KPRC 2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson reports that Arizona has signed former Tennessee Titans safety Hudson Clark.
The news comes after third-year safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson suffered a rib injury in the Cowboys game. Taylor-Demerson laid a hit on Dallas tight end Zack Kuntz and had to be assisted off the field by the training staff.
The Cardinals’ safety went to the locker room to assess the injury but returned to the sideline later. The team announced him as questionable to return, but Taylor-Demerson never did. But that may be simply due to his roster status and the team being cautious.
Cardinals Sign Safety Hudson Clark Following Dadrion Taylor-Demerson Injury
Hudson Clark began his career as an undrafted free agent with the Raiders. The former Arkansas product didn’t make their roster. He spent the offseason playing for the Birmingham Stallions of the United Football League before signing with the Titans.
Clark spent four days in Titans training camp before getting waived on August 2. He became a free agent after getting cut from the roster and passing waivers.
That’s where he’s been before the Cardinals picked him up. Wilson reported earlier that the team worked out the 25-year-old safety before announcing his signing.
It’s unclear if this signing is tied to Dadrion Taylor-Demerson’s signing. The Cardinals are headed to Green Bay to conduct joint practices with the Packers this week. It will be the first joint practice between the LaFleur brothers since the Cardinals hired Mike LaFleur as their head coach.
