The NFL Draft is just days away, and the Atlanta Falcons, notably, don’t have a day-one pick. Atlanta won’t pick until No. 48 in the second round on Friday.
However, they might have a back-pocket trade chip that could drastically improve their chances of getting within the top-32 picks. That trade chip is Kyle Pitts, who was recently franchise tagged, but a current NFL insider believes the Falcons are still willing to listen to offers on Pitts.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter Drops Kyle Pitts Sr. as Top Trade Candidate
It’s officially draft week, so rumors are swirling from all angles, and that means Kyle Pitts’ name has been dropped in trade conversations once again:
In a recent piece documenting the biggest storylines this week ahead of the NFL draft, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter name-drops Kyle Pitts Sr. as a top trade candidate to watch out for.
Some of the other players Schefty believes could be moved? Will Levis, Keon Coleman, and Brandon Aiyuk.
The biggest difference between Kyle Pitts and all those other players is that Pitts is an actual receiving threat for the Falcons and a big part of the Falcons’ offense.
In 2025, Kyle Pitts caught 88 passes for 928 yards and five touchdowns. Does that even warrant a trade? It’s a pretty bold claim for Adam Schefter to make, but you never know what can transpire in the National Football League. In his five-year career with the Atlanta Falcons, Pitts has 15 touchdowns, 284 total catches, and 3,579 career receiving yards.

What Could Atlanta Even Trade Kyle Pitts For?

Surely several teams across the NFL would love the services of Kyle Pitts as a receiving threat tight end, but what could Atlanta receive in a potential trade?
One would have to assume a first-round draft pick is a given. Pitts Sr. was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and while he had a semi-slow start to his career, he’s starting to emerge as one of the better pass-catching options at the tight end position.
Atlanta also likely wants to hold onto all of its day-two draft picks, which includes their first pick at No. 48.
It’s also unclear if teams are actually making calls on Kyle Pitts, or if Schefter’s report is all speculation, but it’s also fair to note that Atlanta may want a quality NFL player if they were to trade away Pitts.
Very notably, aside from Drake London, the Falcons have a pretty weak receiver corps, which makes Pitts’ value even higher.
