The Baltimore Ravens took on the Minnesota Vikings in the second preseason game of the 2026 campaign for them, with quarterback Tyler Huntley getting some attention.
Baltimore once again let most of the starters rest, and Huntley got the start for the second straight preseason game. Huntley completed 6-of-7 passes for 76 yards in the 24-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1.
The Ravens hoped he would have another solid outing to solidify his backup role and leave no doubt against the Vikings. That ended up being the case

Huntley played most of the first half as the starting quarterback of the Ravens. It was a bit of a rough start for him, going 0-for-3 passing and having to use his legs a lot with pressure in his face.
After that, Huntley started to improve and finished strong, including a field-goal possession. He finished completing 5-of-8 for 63 yards and rushed for another 10 yards on 3 carries.
That would put Huntley’s preseason stats at 11-of-15 for 139 passing yards and 10 rushing yards. He has completed 73% of his passes through two preseason games.

Huntley had a ton of pressure in his face early on in the game. At one point, he was in the end zone under heavy pressure and still threw it away to avoid the sack.
Last week against the Eagles, Huntley didn’t run as much as he did against Minnesota. He utilized his mobility to pick up yards on the ground and avoid taking too many negative plays.
Overall, Huntley did everything the Ravens needed from their backup quarterback. He is efficient and doesn’t turn the ball over. That is what made him successful last season when he filled in for Lamar Jackson.
There is one more preseason game on the calendar until the regular season begins. Baltimore will have a very interesting decision with Huntley.
The Ravens could decide to let Huntley rest for the final game since he is a veteran and has played well. There’s really nothing else Huntley needs to show, and he has proven himself as a lock for the QB2 job. Baltimore needs to make sure they can protect their quarterbacks from taking any more hits than Huntley did in this game.
He did exactly what he needed to and proved that he should be Jackson’s backup without any real questions about it. This was a good performance that would be the perfect way for him to close out the preseason if they wanted to hold him out for Week 3.
