The Baltimore Ravens might have a problem on their hands with rookie wide receiver and 2026 3rd round pick Ja’Kobi Lane.

A bizarre video surfaced of Lane doing what appears to be a live chat during his time at USC in which he repeats a question from one of the people in the chat.

“Am I scared of getting CTE?” Lane repeats. “I have CTE.”

It’s not the only weird thing in the video, where Lane also repeatedly films himself picking his nose.

“Heartbreaking: New Ravens rookie WR Ja’Kobi Lane reveals that he already has CTE at just 21 years old,” NFL influencer Dov Kleiman wrote on his official X account, along with a posting of the video in question.

Ravens Drafted 1st Round Talent in 3rd Round

In Lane, the Ravens may have added a player with 1st-round talent in the 3rd round.

“There’s a lot to work with having Ja’Kobi Lane,” ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. said after the pick went in.

There were wildly different projections on Lane’s NFL prospects after the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Arizona native had one of the wildest stat lines you’ll see in 2024 with 43 receptions for 525 yards … and 12 touchdowns. He followed that up in 2025 with another line that will throw you off — 49 receptions for 745 yards and 4 touchdowns.

“Ja’Kobi Lane is a prototypical X-receiver with outstanding ball skills to dominate the catch point, similar to Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens,” Bleacher Report’s Damian Parson wrote in his pre-draft evaluation. “Lane is equipped with the frame and wingspan to thrive as a high-point specialist in the NFL. Lane is a former 4-star recruit in the 2023 class. He is coming off his best season of college football in 2025. Lane has never eclipsed 800 yards receiving in a single season.”

Before the 2025 season, ESPN’s Jordan Reid had Lane listed as his No. 1 wide receiver prospect, but teammate Makai Lemon had a breakout season and won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top wide receiver.

Lemon, who had his own pre-draft issues, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1st round (No. 20 overall)

Lane Made Theft Accusation Against USC Recruit

In another uncomfortable moment online, Lane went on social media to falsely accuse 3-star recruit Brawley Tuitupou of stealing out of his locker and other lockers during a visit with a post that included a screenshot of Tuitupou’s Instagram account along with a screenshot of Tuitupou’s IG stories featuring a coterie of USC football gear.

“This kid stole my cleats and a bunch of stuff from the sc locker room,” Lane wrote on X on Monday. “All yall kids out there just know this is simply unacceptable.”

Tuitupou, a high school junior, went on social media to deny the claims.

“I want to address the situation that’s been discussed online and be clear about the facts,” Tuitupou, a 6-foot-4 athlete, wrote on his social media. “I did not steal any gear, nor would I ever knowingly possess stolen property. The items in question were purchased by me in good faith, and I have documentation showing that I paid for them under the context that they had been obtained legitimately. At the time of purchase, I had no reason to believe they were connected to any issues.”
