Former Buffalo Bills edge rusher Joey Bosa has been biding his time since hitting free agency, but could soon find a new landing spot with the defending Super Bowl champions.

Bosa is still on the open market after his one-year deal with the Bills came to an end with the start of the new NFL year. Analyst Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus gave a prediction of his next landing spot, pegging the Seattle Seahawks as the most likely team to give him a new contract.

Joey Bosa Could Boost Seattle’s Defense

Locker noted that Bosa is ranked as the No. 28 available free agent, noting that the Seahawks could be antsy to make an addition after losing out on another potential addition.

“The Seahawks witnessed underrated edge defender Boye Mafe head to Cincinnati in free agency but have yet to directly replace his role. Bosa would be a slam-dunk find,” Locker wrote.

Locker added that Bosa had a productive season with the Bills, getting to opposing quarterbacks with ease and leading the NFL in forced fumbles.

“The former Pro Bowler bounced back wonderfully in his lone season with the Bills, amassing an 85.5 PFF pass-rush grade that sat eighth among qualified edge defenders,” Locker wrote. “Likewise, Bosa’s 20.1% pass-rush win rate on true pass sets placed 17th in that same group.”

The Seahawks already have a strong edge-rushing group, the leading tip of the spear for a defense that cruised to a Super Bowl win.

“Even though Bosa is less effective against the run, his terrific pass-rush acumen would allow the league’s deepest edge-rushing group to remain dangerous in 2026,” Locker wrote. “At age 30, Bosa seems inclined to play for a contender — and Seattle’s rotation is a perfect situation.”

Bills Defenders Still Looking for a New Home

Bosa is among a number of core members of last year’s Bills defense still looking for a new home. Fellow edge rusher A.J. Epenesa remains unsigned, having agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns before the deal fell apart when he failed a physical.

Cornerback Tre’Davious White, who had a strong bounce-back season after leaving Buffalo in 2024, also remains unsigned. Bills general manager Brandon Beane has hinted that the team would still bring him back.

“Yeah, I mean, we love Tre’Davious,” Beane said, via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. “I think at this point, you know, we’re waiting through the draft and probably he is as well. You would never close the door on bringing a guy like Tre back here to Buffalo.”

White’s road back to Buffalo may have gotten a bit steeper after the team used a second-round draft pick on cornerback Davison Igbinosun, who could compete for a starting job. Beane said the team wanted to make sure they had more depth at the key position, especially after rookie Maxwell Hairston and other struggled with injuries last year.

“You want to make sure, as the season goes along, if injury strikes, that you’ve got enough guys, even if they’re not starters,” Beane said, via the team’s official website. “How many guys we went through last season that played in the playoffs for us, or helped us get to the playoffs. So you’re going to need those guys.”
