The Buffalo Bills have their biggest game of the season to prepare for, but offensive coordinator Joe Brady has some potentially life-altering stuff to prep for this week too.
Yet, Brady addressed the elephant in the room, his interviews for head-coach positions, as part of his early-week media availability Monday.
Brady is one of the most sought-after offensive coordinators in this cycle, since he has overseen a top-five offense since he took over for Ken Dorsey in 2023. He also helped quarterback Josh Allen earn AP NFL MVP honors last season and is likely to again be a finalist for the award this year.
But he and the Bills are also trying to seal the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl championship and get back there for the first time since 1993.
Buffalo, the AFC’s No. 6 seed, will take on the top-seeded Denver Broncos on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
Joe Brady Has Been Requested To Interview With The Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens have an opening for head coach after their surprising firing of John Harbaugh. They have requested an interview with Brady and may not be the only team to request Brady’s services.
Still, when asked about having to compartmentalize between preparing for the interview and game prep, Brady said it isn’t a challenge.
“I don’t have to do anything really until after this game,” Brady said Monday. “There won’t be any focus on anything other than the Denver Broncos and our guys and doing everything we can to get an opportunity to go do it again next week.
“That’s all I care about, and the rest of that stuff will take care of itself.”
We’re hoping Brady will have some focus on his less-than-two-month-old baby as well this week.
But Brady is unlikely to conduct his interview this week, since he was not eligible to even do a virtual interview with the Ravens until Tuesday.
Considering the Bills played Sunday — they, of course, defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-24 at Everbank Stadium in their first playoff road win in more than three decades — and will need to play in the first game of Divisional Round weekend, Brady is more likely to push off speaking with Ravens brass.
Joe Brady Is Unlikely To Get A Head Coach Position This Cycle
Bills fans who are worried about losing the good thing Allen and Brady have going can probably rest easy.
Brady is one of a host of other interview requests the Ravens made, including former head coaches Brian Flores, Kevin Stefanski and Mike McDaniel. Plus, they also are waiting to hear from assistant-coach candidates like Brady, Broncos DC Vance Joseph, plus Robert Saleh and Klint Kubiak, which means their search will take a little bit longer to complete.
But the Ravens are the only team to request Brady for their head-coach vacancy, and they are presumably in a win-now position with veteran offensive stars like Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and others.
Baltimore was one win short of the Super Bowl in 2023 and, of course, lost to the Bills in the divisional round by two points last year. With Jackson, a three-time MVP — he was named PFWA MVP in 2024 — and a loaded roster, Baltimore should have its pick of the head-coaching litter.
If Brady were in the mix for a role like Arizona, Las Vegas, Miami or Atlanta, he might end up landing it. But if Baltimore is the only role he’s interviewing for, Brady is likely to be back as Buffalo OC in 2026.
