The Buffalo Bills entered the 2026 NFL offseason with an unknown future regarding wide receiver Keon Coleman.
During the 2025 season, Coleman was a healthy scratch in multiple games. He was facing punishment for being late to meetings and seemingly being unfocused. Many felt that the two sides could be heading towards a divorce this offseason.
So far, Coleman remains on the roster. The Bills could still move him should they choose to do so.
At the wide receiver position, Buffalo made a splash via a trade with the Chicago Bears. To give Josh Allen a much-needed potential No. 1 weapon, the Bills acquired D.J. Moore.
That trade could give Buffalo more of a leg to stand on when it comes to Coleman. It’s possible the Bills could trade him for some late-round draft capital. Or, they could choose to bring him back and try to develop him.
With that being said, Buffalo has been linked to the Minnesota Vikings as a potential trade partner.
Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings Linked in Keon Coleman Trade Pitch
Matt Johnson of SportsNaut has suggested the Vikings as a potential landing spot for Coleman if the Bills place him on the trade block.
Obviously, this is a link between the two teams not a report. There is no telling whether or not Minnesota would actually have interest in Coleman. But, the Vikings could make sense.
Earlier this offseason, Minnesota lost No. 3 wide receiver Jalen Nailor in free agency to the Las Vegas Raiders. Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison are still the top two options for either Kyler Murray or J.J. McCarthy, but adding a third option would make sense.
Coleman could slot into the Vikings’ offense nicely in that No. 3 role.
What Does Keon Coleman Bring to the Field?
Throughout his first two seasons in Buffalo, Coleman has shown flashes of the potential that made him the No. 33 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
He has played in 26 total games, catching 67 passes for 960 yards and eight touchdowns.
Standing in at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, Coleman is capable of being a playmaker down the field. He has solid speed and good athleticism to go along with his size. If he played up to his potential, the Bills likely would already have their No. 1 wide receiver.
Coleman is heading into the third season of his four-year rookie contract worth just over $10 million. For Buffalo or any team who acquired him, they would have two years to figure out whether Coleman can take the next step or not.
Expect to hear more rumors surrounding the Bills and Coleman as the offseason moves forward. Buffalo has a decision to make. Keep Coleman and hope he can get his head on straight or cut the loss and move on.
