The Chicago Bears came out with a 31-27 victory over the Green Bay Packers in what was yet another fourth-quarter comeback by quarterback Caleb Williams and company.
Williams made history with the most passing yards (361) in Bears history as he finished the game with two touchdowns and two interceptions. After the game, Williams celebrated in a way fans have never seen yet: by grating cheese on national television.
Caleb Williams on Victory, Bears’ Defense
NFL on Prime Video hosted Williams, along with wide receiver DJ Moore and tight end Colston Loveland, for a postgame press conference, where Williams talked about the comeback win and helping Chicago enjoy a postseason victory for the first time in 15 years.
“Got a lot more to show,” Williams said. “Definitely can be better for the team.”
Williams also gave a huge shoutout to the defense, saying, “We wouldn’t be 31 points without them. We wouldn’t have won this game without them…without that mentality coming out in the second half…kudos to our defense and what they were able to do for us because we wouldn’t be here without them.”
Williams Grating Cheese After Playoff Win vs. Packers
Once the interviews were over, the trio of Williams, Moore, and Loveland put on cheese grater hats, which have been gaining a ton of traction lately, along with something that hasn’t been seen yet with a Bears player: an actual cheese grater.
Williams was the lone candidate given a cheese grater and proceeded to grate cheese with his tongue out in front of national television, which had Bears fans hyped.
There’s a first for everything, right?
With the win, the Bears have to wait to see who they’ll face off against in the divisional round. If the San Francisco 49ers defeat the Philadelphia Eagles tomorrow, the Bears will host the Los Angeles Rams. If the Eagles beat the 49ers, the Bears will host Philadelphia. Either way, Chicago will host another playoff game at Soldier Field.
Williams, after the game, said, “We understand that it’s 60 minutes of football. We understand and know who we are. We understand what this means to the city. We understand what this means to the organization; we also understand what this means to us. You keep going, you keep going, you keep fighting, and when the clock hit zeros, you look up and see who wins.”
As the Bears look on to the divisional round, Williams had one final message for the Packers.
“We’re here, and we’ll be here for a while is my plan. Be here with coach. Win a bunch of games. Be in these moments. Come out victorious. That’s the mindset, for right now, this year. That’s also the mindset for the future.”
