The Chicago Bears got a major boost earlier this weekend when the Baltimore Ravens surprised the Green Bay Packers, beating them 41-24 at Lambeau Field in spectacular fashion – managing 307 rushing yards against a top-10 run defense in the league.

This not only would have sated the many anti-Packers desires of the Bears populous, but handed Chicago the NFC North division title for the first time since 2018 – Matt Nagy’s rookie year as head coach and Mitchell Trubisky’s second year in the league.

Since then, things had mostly been on the down for Chicago, but 2025 has proved to be a landmark year, clinching what is by no means an easy division with two games to spare.

However, the Bears still have seeding to fight for: the opportunity to clinch the #1 seed and subsequent first round bye will no doubt be very alluring. In order to remain in the running to come first in the NFC, Chicago must win tonight at the San Francisco 49ers.

But, unfortunately for the team, there could be bad news in the receiving department: both Olamide Zaccheaus and DJ Moore have been late additions to the injury report and are currently officially “questionable” to play in the primetime evening game.

Bears Could Have A Serious Wide Receiver Problem

“Bears now have added WRs DJ Moore and Olamide Zaccheaus to their Injury Report due to an illness and are listing both players as questionable for tonight’s game against the 49ers.” ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote on Sunday, ahead of the early-slate games.

And with Moore and Zaccheaus possibly missing the important intra-conference bout, things could go from bad to worse for the receiving corps, who are already down the team’s top weapon in the passing game – 2024 9th overall pick, Rome Odunze.

“Rome Odunze already has been ruled out.” Schefter finished in the post on X.

Who Will Play At WR For The Bears?

If all three do not play, Chicago will be short three of their four top guys at the position. And to make matters worse, rookie second round pick, Luther Burden III – who has come on significantly throughout the season – was also limited in practice earlier in the week with an ankle injury before being cleared to play.

Although he is good to go, there is a possibility that he is not fully 100% fit – something that could be critical if he becomes the de facto WR1 on Sunday evening.

Beyond Burden, the next men up are former Ravens third round pick, Devin Duvernay, and undrafted free agent rookie, Jahdae Walker. The pair have less than 50 receiving yards between them on the season.

More likely, Chicago will rely on the tight end combination of Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet – alongside Burden – for the bulk of their offensive production in the passing game, if the situation arises that they fall short two key players on Sunday night against one of the top teams in the NFC.
