Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow is no stranger to random takes about his future with the team. After missing the playoffs for the past three straight seasons, it shouldn’t be surprising.
Moreover, it’s why the Bengals made a blockbuster move for Dexter Lawrence II to improve their defense and to show Burrow that the team is serious about ending their playoff drought and getting back to a Super Bowl.
Nonetheless, Cincinnati can only quiet down the chatter around Burrow’s future until the start of the 2026 NFL season.
As a result, analysts and pundits will still be firing off takes about the signal caller, and the latest comes from ESPN LA analyst and former NFL player Su’a Kristopher Craven, who sees the Los Angeles Rams as a potential destination to replace Matthew Stafford if Burrow wants out of the Bengals.
“Burrow to the Rams … Mark my words,” Cravens wrote on April 20 on X in response to the report of ESPN’s Adam Schefter regarding Burrow’s future in the aftermath of the Lawrence trade.
Moreover, Cravens gave a more specific prediction of when he sees the Rams looking to lure Burrow to Los Angeles.
“Within the next calendar year, lol,” Cravens added.
Dexter Lawrence Doesn’t Hold Back on Bengals QB
The Bengals are hoping the defense can be serviceable at stopping the opposing team, because with a healthy Burrow, the Cincinnati offense will be putting up points. In a video on April 19, Lawrence spoke with Dan Hoard and shared his thoughts on having Burrow as his new QB.
“You know, for the longest, I’ve been thinking he’s one of the top quarterbacks in the league, if not the top,” Lawrence said. “It’s going to be fun to share a field with him and to watch him up close, to see how he prepares, how he studies, how he leads guys and gets guys going. I’m excited for that part of it.”
Despite being limited after suffering a severe Grade 3 turf toe injury in Week 2 of the 2025 season, the Bengals star did produce respectable numbers.
Last season with the Bengals, Burrow posted a 91.8 overall PFF grade, which ranked second among 43 qualified quarterbacks. His 91.3 passing grade also placed second at the position.
Across 288 dropbacks, he threw for 1,809 yards with 17 touchdowns and five interceptions. He added 18 big-time throws compared to just two turnover-worthy plays, highlighting how well he managed the ball under pressure.
Trey Hendrickson Gets Blunt About Joe Burrow
Former Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson appeared on the March 26 edition of “The Set” and didn’t hold back his thoughts on Burrow and the team’s offense.
“We did not make the Super Bowl, and I was able to make one in Cincinnati. So it was special to go there and win a lot of meaningful games and watch Joe Burrow. I was in the league watching him in New Orleans come up and win the national championship, then playing with him and watching him as a competitor. You knew he was destined for special things and still is.
“Over the last four years, I’ve been so motivated to continue to push myself to be the best I can be to help Cincinnati win games. It was a great chapter in my life, something I’m going to remember forever, and I made wonderful friends over the years. It’s been fun to come into my own there and leave my stamp on Cincinnati forever.”
