Former Cincinnati Bengals Pass Rusher Trey Hendrickson has agreed to terms on a four-year, $112 Million contract with the Baltimore Ravens.
“Ravens and Trey Hendrickson reached agreement on a four-year, $112 million contract. Hendrickson stays in the AFC North and now will be facing Joe Burrow and the Bengals twice a season.” Adam Schefter wrote on his official X account.
The Ravens pick up a 4-time Pro Bowl pass rusher while Cincy loses one of their bright spots on defense. This deal provides the Ravens with a superstar pass rusher less than 24 hours after Baltimore backed out of its trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for Maxx Crosby.
Ravens Make Deal After Backing out of Crosby Trade
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Trey Hendrickson’s four-year deal is worth up to $112 million and includes $60 million fully guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.
“For 8, 10, 12 and 14 sacks per season, he also gets an additional $500,000 for each threshold he meets.” Schefter wrote on X.
Trey Hendrickson was arguably the best player available in this year’s free agency class. This signing is fitting considering the Ravens backed out of the Maxx Crosby trade. The Ravens offered two first round picks to acquire Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders.
“The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby, we will have no further comment at this time.” the Raiders said in a statement.
Further reports revealed that Crosby did not pass his physical which led the Baltimore Ravens to back out of the trade.
In what has been an emotional roller-coaster for Ravens Fans around the world, they get their star pass rusher they have been looking for. On the Cincinnati Bengals‘ side, this split seemed destined to happen after Trey Hendrickson and the Bengals organization failed to see eye to eye last season.
Trey Hendrickson’s Stint With the Cincinnati Bengals
Hendrickson signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent in 2021. Since that time, Trey Hendrickson has been one of the NFL’s premier pass rushers.
According to an ESPN article, he ranks second in overall pressure rate (13.2%), according to ESPN Research, and has 61 sacks, the fourth-highest total. Hendrickson was a third-round selection by the New Orleans Saints in 2017 and has 81 sacks in nine NFL seasons.
In 2024, Hendrickson was named an All-Pro after leading the league in sacks with 17.5.
Trey Hendrickson missed 10 games due to injuries in 2025 and only had 4.0 sacks. He ended the 2025 season on injured reserve due to a procedure to repair a core muscle injury. Despite the injuries, Hendrickson and the Bengals organization struggled to reach agreements on a long-term contract.
The former All-Pro signed a one-year extension with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2025 after asking to be traded. Nonetheless, the Bengals did not place a franchise tag on Trey Hendrickson after the 2025 season concluded which led him to be a free agent.
Hendrickson signing this deal with the Baltimore Ravens not only makes Cincy’s defense more questionable but makes a division rival much stronger on defense. This move will lead many question to see what the Bengals do during this free agency window.
