The Cleveland Browns wrapped up the NFL draft on Saturday having selected what is widely being hailed as one of the best classes in the league. Of course, no one really wins a draft in April–there is still much to figure out once these players take the field–but GM Andrew Berry and his group certainly appeared to do well in identifying value players and positioning themselves to pick them.
And once the Browns wrapped up the draft, they were not quite done. They added undrafted three free agents on Saturday, including Mississippi State running back Davon Booth, who ran for 2,117 yards and 18 touchdowns for his career, and also caught 40 passes for 379 yards and six touchdowns. Booth notched a 82.8 PFF grade for 2025.
The Browns also added edge Logan Fano, brother of first-round pick Spencer Fano, and cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson from USC.
Browns Bolster RB Room With Signing
Generally speaking, though, Booth appears to be a longshot to stick with the Browns, though there is a need for depth in the running back room. The team has Quinshon Judkins as the RB1, but the backups are spotty. Dylan Sampson had some moments as a rookie in 2025, and there is Raheim Sanders behind him.
The NFL.com scouting report on Booth isn’t all that enthusiastic: “Compact runner lacking ideal size and athleticism for the position. Booth processes run-lane development with adequate quickness and is a solid decision-maker when it’s time to find his lane. He has straight-line speed to threaten the corner but lacks wiggle or power to create for himself. Booth carries some third-down value, but it might not be enough for him to lock down a roster spot in the pros.”
Offensive Focus in NFL Draft
In the end, the Browns took in a haul of 10 players, and left no doubt about what their goal for the weekend was: Fix an offense that has been worst in the NFL for the past two years in a row. Eight of the team’s players selected were on the offensive side, including three offensive linemen and two receivers, areas of particular concern on the roster.
The complete class:
- Round 1, Pick 9: Spencer Fano, OT, Utah
- Round 1, Pick 24: KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M
- Round 2, Pick 39: Denzel Boston, WR, Washington
- Round 2, Pick 58: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, S, Toledo
- Round 3, Pick 86: Austin Barber, OT, Florida
- Round 5, Pick 146: Parker Brailsford, C, Alabama
- Round 5, Pick 149: Justin Jefferson, LB, Alabama
- Round 5, Pick 170: Joe Royer, TE, Cincinnati
- Round 6, Pick 182: Taylen Green, QB, Arkansas
- Round 7, Pick 248: Carsen Ryan, TE, BYU
Browns’ Todd Monken ‘Excited’ About NFL Draft Additions
Head coach Todd Monken, beginning his first season with the Browns, has a good reputation as a development coach, and he will have plenty to work with when it comes to this group. What impressed him most, he said, is that he feels the team added versatility.
“I think a huge strength of a player is versatility and it’s going to happen that way in the draft,” Monken said. “Andrew and I were talking about that in the draft room of why certain linemen go higher in the draft than others. … Versatility-wise is a wide tight end that can block and also attack you vertically and separate. So all of that comes into play.
“But until we get those players here, we get a chance to work with them, I don’t know that yet. But we are excited about what we’ve seen on film and the anticipation that we can move them and have some flexibility in the spots that they play.”
