The Cleveland Browns got some good news and bad news on Quinshon Judkins and Jack Conklin ahead of their Week 2 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
The status of rookie running back Judkins was up in the air after he only had two days of practice, but he’s officially active. Following practice on Sept. 12, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski was impressed with Judkins and how he handled practice.
“I’d say he has done a nice job. He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do up to this point,” Stefanski said.
Judkins will be part of a running back room that features Jerome Ford and Dylan Sampson.
Cleveland, meanwhile, will be without starting right tackle Jack Conklin, who’s the most notable inactive. Conklin was dealing with an eye and elbow injury, and he was listed as questionable going into the game, but he has been ruled out for Week 1 after his on-field warm-up.
KT Leveston is expected to start at right tackle for the Browns.
Defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. will miss his second-straight game as he was ruled out earlier this week.
“Yeah, he’s done a really nice job. We were planning on having him not practice today. So, he’s on schedule, doing everything and progressing,” Stefanski said of Hall.
Shedeur Sanders will also be inactive for his second-straight game and will serve as Cleveland’s emergency third quarterback.
The Browns‘ inactives are as follows:
- Shedeur Sanders (3rd QB)
- Raheim Sanders
- Mike Hall Jr.
- Zak Zinter
- Jack Conklin
Browns Are a Heavy Underdog Against Ravens
Cleveland suffered a 17-16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 and is now a heavy underdog in Week 2.
The Browns are 12.5-point underdogs against Baltimore on the road, which is the biggest underdog of the week, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Heading into the game, Stefanski knows the Ravens pose a ton of problems.
“Play a really tough, physical brand of football with really good players at all three levels. Offensively, great challenges obviously with Lamar (Jackson), Derrick Henry, fast receivers, big up front,” Stefanski said. “So, huge challenge for our football team. Have to have a great week of practice and then have to go on the road and handle a road environment.”
Stefanski is looking to avoid starting the year 0-2 for the first time in his coaching career.
“Our main focus is what we need to do in this game. I don’t think any team has served well thinking about your week one result, win, lose or draw,” Stefanski added. “We’re really focused just on this game.”
Kick-off is set for 1 p.m. ET.
Cleveland Hoping to Bring Back Receiver
Ahead of Week 2, the Browns activated Judkins to the 53-man roster and waived wide receiver Gage Larvadain.
Larvadain went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and signed with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent, and ended up making the 53-man roster.
However, after being waived, Browns insider Brad Stainbrook reports that Cleveland hopes to sign the receiver to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
“Browns plan to sign WR Gage Larvadain to the practice squad next week if he clears waivers, per a league source,” Stainbrook wrote on X.
Larvadain was inactive in Week 1 for Cleveland. The receiver ended his college football career at South Carolina.
