The Cleveland Browns head into the NFL offseason with many questions about the direction the team takes to right the ship after a disappointing 2025 campaign, when the franchise finished 5-12.
Along with all the questions about the quarterback position and who will be the leader under center to start the 2026 NFL season, the Browns have plenty of other concerns, like at wide receiver.
Browns GM: Jerry Jeudy Will Be ‘Big Part’ of WR Room

One player that appears to be firmly in the Browns’ long-term plans is star wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.
Browns general manager Andrew Berry spoke to reporters at the NFL scouting combine on Tuesday and made a point of letting it be known how important Jeudy will be to the wide receiver room in Cleveland.
“I think we can add all across the offense to be honest,” Berry said. “We’re really pleased with some of the younger players we have. Jerry [Jeudy] is gonna be a big part of it, and we’re pleased with Isaiah’s rookie year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t add to the arsenal. Malachi [Corley], he carved out a nice role. But we probably look at it more like global weapons and global pass catchers and Harold [Fannin Jr.] would be a part of that, obviously. Q is a weapon for us. You want to look at it as the overall infrastructure as opposed to one position.”
Even though Jeudy didn’t have the best season in 2025 after being a Pro Bowler the previous year, Berry and the team’s front office appear to be standing by him and have cited other players who have experienced the same thing.
“I think, honestly, it’s probably the same things that contributed to the offense as a whole,” Berry said. “And I mean, look, you do see this from time to time in the league. I remember Jeremiah’s first year to his second year and you can look at what happened with Brian Thomas down in Jacksonville. They (BTJ and Jeudy) were the two first-ballot Pro Bowlers a year ago and both of those guys had down seasons. It does happen but we have a lot of confidence in Jerry. For a guy to produce how he did and at 25 years old break all the (franchise) records and play to his ability, we think if we can make our offense a bit more operational, we can expect a bounce back.”
After recording career-best numbers in receptions (90) and receiving yards (1,229) in 2024, Jeudy’s stats dropped off drastically, hauling in 50 catches for 602 yards and two touchdowns.
However, the quarterback position was a revolving door, and all Jeudy might need is some stability under center, which Berry seems to be working on this offseason.
Browns ‘Super Active’ on QB Trade Market

At this point, it is unclear what the Browns will do at quarterback, but the team is definitely keeping its options open, as Berry made clear on Tuesday.
“I’d say this, more generally with trades, I think you guys know I’m always super active,” Berry said. “Part of your job is to listen.”
“It’s the most important position,” Berry said. “We wouldn’t talk about it any differently if you’re drafting an O-lineman or a D-lineman or something along those lines. I don’t think that you can invest in it enough.”
It’ll be interesting to see what pans out in Cleveland and who will be leading the way at quarterback next season, and potentially for the foreseeable future.
