The Cleveland Browns need a makeover on the offensive side of the ball, and the team could opt to use one of its top picks in the NFL Draft to give quarterback Shedeur Sanders a new weapon to work with.

Sanders started the final seven games of the season for the Browns, going 3-4 in those contests. He passed for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. But one of the problems for Sanders was a lack of weapons. Jerry Jeudy was slated to be the team’s No. 1 receiver but finished the season with just 50 catches for 602 yards and two touchdowns. Cedric Tillman missed time with an injury, and rookie Isaiah Bond had a limited role within the offense.

Sanders’ most reliable weapon was fellow rookie Harold Fannin Jr. The first-year tight end caught a team-high 72 passes for 731 yards and six touchdowns — all team-highs.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry acknowledged that the team will invest in improving the offense as a whole this offseason.

“It’s no secret that’s where we’re going to invest most of our resources this offseason,” Berry said. “A year ago, when we decided to make the pivot that we did, you also realize that you’re not going to be able to accomplish everything at once for the roster. The offensive line, that’s a position group that I do imagine will have a fair amount of turnover as we go into 2026.”

Mock Draft Has Browns Taking Texas A&M Standout Receiver

The Browns hold two first-round picks. And with a lack of high-end quartebracks, the Browns could decide to build around Sanders and give him more to work with. Dane Brugler of The Athletic has the Browns adding Texas A&M standout KC Concepcion at No. 24 — a pick the Browns got from the Jaguars.

“The Browns currently have a bottom-five wide receiver depth chart, so finding an upgrade should be a priority early in the draft,” Brugler said. “Concepcion is a fluid, gliding athlete who specializes in getting open before the catch and creating after it. He would be an immediate starter (slot or Z).”

Concepcion caught 61 passes for 919 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He was named an All-SEC selection as a wide receiver, all-purpose, and return specialist. Concepcion spent his previous two college seasons at North Carolina State, where he caught 124 passes for 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Browns Also Add to Offensive Line in Mock Draft

In addition to a lack of weapons, Sanders also played behind a patchwork offensive line. The Browns played the final stretch of the season, missing four of their five opening day starters up front. Jack Conklin, Joel Bitonio, Ethan Pocic and Wyatt Teller are all slated to be free agents.

Brugler has the Browns addressing the offensive line with their first pick at No. 6 overall with Francis Mauigoa out of Miami.

“The Browns need a complete makeover on the offensive line — and that is tough to do in a meaningful way without spending premium resources,” Brugler said. “Some NFL teams have Mauigoa on their draft boards as a guard, but he has 33-inch arms and has been exceptionally consistent in pass protection all season for the Hurricanes. He has the highest floor of any offensive lineman in the 2026 draft class.”

The Browns have a long list of needs to address this offseason, including whether they’ll move forward with Sanders as their starter.
